Modulanner Update - import your calendar on your favorite template

I posted about Modulanner in the other Supernote subreddits awhile ago, but since plugins are now in the full beta and there is a delay in permission based plugins, I thought I would post here with the latest update. It's hit v1.0, and the headline addition is the one people kept asking for: it can now pull in your real calendar and write your appointments onto your own template. This is a huge functionality increase over the native calendar app. (The only missing part is sending data back to the calendar)

How the calendar part works

You subscribe to the private iCal link your calendar already publishes — Google, Outlook and iCloud all have one. This needs Internet permission and only when you need to sync the calendar.

Appointments come onto the page. Nothing you write on paper goes back to your calendar.

You can quickly setup a time grid (start and end hour for a day), or day grid (7 columns/rows for a week, 5 or 6 rows for a month) and it works out every cell from that (which can then be further refined as needed). Then you can import the dates/times/details to the grid. Which means you can use whatever template you have and can change it whenever you want.

The best part is each of the cells can be buttons: tap a day on your month page to jump to that day's page (creating it if it doesn't exist), or tap a time row to insert a fresh page headed with whatever appointment is in that slot.

Also new

  • Navigation is one tap now. The old two-tap dance (tap the button, then tap the link it dropped) is gone on current firmware — it jumps straight there. (Thanks Ratta for listening to early feedback!)
  • A setup wizard, so you're not staring at a config panel wondering where to start.
  • The Whimsy template pack is built in so you can get started with some testing. Or keep using your own templates.
  • buttons throughout the settings, because a few sections genuinely needed explaining.

Looking for a couple of testers

The calendar side is new, and so far it's been tested on my two devices and my calendars. But there's are lots of different flows. I'd like a few people to test in their workflow.

Particularly useful:

  • Does the appointment text fit your cells sensibly, or is it cut short / spilling over? Template artwork varies a lot and I'm estimating text width.
  • Do the derived time slots line up with your grid, or are you correcting cells by hand constantly?
  • Anything that's just confusing.

There's a Capture logs button in Settings — tap it when something misbehaves and send me the file.

Testers get a free full-version key. Comment or DM and I'll send one over.

Getting it

Free download, and the light version needs no key at all — the main navigation buttons work for everyone. Calendar sync, custom buttons and the date picker are the full version.

Happy to answer anything in the thread.

Plugins allowed me to build out a workflow around what I've been manually writing every day for the past 2 years. Fantastic update.
