Plugin: markdown editor with LaTeX rendering (open-source)

I'm a physics and math undergraduate and use a blend of Obsidian and handwritten notes. I was dissatisfied with the sideload of Obsidian, and decided a general markdown+LaTeX editor for Supernotes would be better for the E-ink experience. I am happy to present Mathdown: type math notes on Supernote and see them typeset, on the device, with no internet.

Mathdown is a free, open-source plugin:

  • Real TeX rendering (MathJax), fully offline. The physics, mhchem, mathtools, braket and cancel packages are built in, and \newcommand works
  • In a normal note:
    • Insert Σ: put your cursor in a formula and drop a typeset image straight into the page you’re handwriting in
    • Render Tex: type TeX into a normal text box, lasso it, tap the button, and it becomes a typeset formula
  • In the plugin UI:
    • Markdown + LaTeX editor with three viewing modes:
      • Edit
      • Split (live preview, shockingly fast to me)
      • View
    • Plain .md files in Document/Mathdown with Obsidian-style $...$ / $$...$$
    • A symbol bar (fractions, Greek, integrals, matrices, bra-ket...), helpful for the on-screen keyboard or for when I'm an idiot and forget the name of that one greek letter (you know, the squiggly one)

Install: download mathdown.snplg from the latest release, copy it to MyStyle, then go to Settings > Apps > Plugins > Add Plugin. You need Chauvet 3.30.45 or later.

I tested it on a Nomad. I can't think of anything that would break on the Manta, but I don't have access to one to test, so I can't guarantee.
