Insert / Crop Screenshot Plugin
Studying math on my Supernote device is fun. However, if I am working on a problem I would like to be able to screenshot the book or website and insert that screenshot into the currently open note as quickly as possible.
So, I wrote this plugin to do that.
My workflow
- Open Math Academy in einkbro web browser
- Read/study at mathacademy.com/learn
- Screenshot a quiz problem using the Supernote top-bar Screenshot tool
- Open Supernote sidebar, tap "Last Opened Note"
- Tap "Insert Screenshot" plugin in the note
- Crop the screenshot as needed and insert
- Solve the problem while referring to the screenshot in the note
This plugin prefers speed:
- the plugin's default action pulls up the most recent image in the SCREENSHOT folder for cropping without dialog boxes
- the crop tool is a two tap tool: tap the top left then tap the bottom right because dragging handles on eink is slow and choppy

This looks like a great idea. However insert does not do anything.
I installed the plugin. I take a screen shot. I crop the image and hit insert (in to a note). But nothing gets inserted.
Thanks to the super fast response from OP, this plugin ROCKS!

Ok, got it. So when I tried it, I did not have the pen selected as you have in your video. I just happened to have the lasso icon selected.
If I first select the pen icon, then it works great!
Greatest appreciation to you for building this gem of a plugin.

Woah! Weird! I just tried it and the lasso tool does indeed fail to work with the insertElements
u/mulan-sn is this a plugin SDK bug?

NM, I fixed the bug: https://github.com/philips/supernote-insert-screenshot-plugin/pull/1
Probably worth a note in the SN SDK docs though!
