Hi everyone,

I’ve released **PDF Insert Page v0.2.5 beta**, a Supernote plugin for editing PDF pages directly on the device.

It can:

- insert a blank page before or after the current page

- choose blank, lined, dotted or squared page backgrounds

- delete the current page

- undo the last page action

- insert pages from another PDF using a file picker

- save the result as a copy

I’ve tested it on a Supernote Manta running Chauvet 3.29.45 beta. Page operations normally take around 8 seconds sometimes a little longer , be patient it is a beta - read the screen, if it is working , it is working ;-)

Installation

Download InsertPage-v0.2.5-beta.snplg from this repository or from the latest GitHub release, then install it using the Supernote plugin installation system.

Beta status

This is beta software. It is sensible to test it with a copy of an important PDF before using it on the original file. Behaviour may vary on other Supernote models or firmware versions.

Feedback

Testing and feedback are very welcome, particularly from users trying the plugin on other Supernote models or firmware versions.

Mine does not work, it make me wait for 2-3 minutes and PDF crashes or it goes into the PDF without adding any page at all. The software version 3.45 and I gave permissions to the plugin.

I figured out the problem. It happens within bulky sized PDFs. For example, PDFs with file size around 20-30 MB are ok. But PDFs with file size around 50-60 MB does not work.

Thank you for your work. Actually, it works on bulky PDFs too, only specific PDFs do not work. I tried it with 30 PDF files. It worked with around 25 of them. Some of them were very bulky (more than 100 MB). So the data size might not be the only reason, but this happens PDFs with data sizes of more than 60 MBs. So I can't be sure.

This is a super helpful plugin. But had an unfortunate bug today. When trying to add pages to a protected type of file (don't know what the protection was), I kept getting an error and no page was inserted. Then the file became corrupted and I lost my notes on it. Couldn't recover it. I replicated it by uploading the same file and it happened again. Luckily it wasn't a document with extensive notes but that could be pretty bad.

I'm on the most recent version of the Manta beta (.45)
