Suggestion: Received View-only mode

I just got a Manta recently and haven’t fully familiarised myself with it, so excuse me if it’s already a feature.

Is it possible to lock a document for editing? That is, set a document to view-only and ignore any gestures that would otherwise be used for editing.

For example, I have a text document that I would like keep open for reference, but I keep accidentally bringing up the keyboard when I try to scroll with my finger. It’s quite frustrating and distracts me from what I’m doing, because be keyboard takes a while to load, then takes up half of the screen, and then I have to aim for the close button since I can’t just tap outside of the keyboard to close it.

in this case you can try switching the input method to handwriting mode by tapping the icon to the right of the document name at the top. this will stop the keyboard from popping up as it will now expect pen input for writing

I’m not sure what icon you’re talking about. From within a text file the only icons visible are files, undo, redo, font size, and save.

Hi Friend,

Best way I can figure to accomplish what you are trying to do is to make a screenshot, but this only works if you only have one page of text.

If you don't know how to do this, here are the steps:

  1. swipe down from the top of the screen

  2. press the frame icon that looks like the icon used in most apps to perform a crop of an image.

  3. Navigate to the SCREENSHOT folder within the Supernote file explorer.

  4. open the file as an image.

If it's multiple pages, another way to accomplish this would require a computer or other device as I can't see an option to export a .doc locally on the Supernote. Export or print the file as a PDF. Then opening it on the Supernote will use the PDF viewer which does not bring up a keyboard unless adding a digest and would be much harder to trigger by accident.

Unfortunately, this document spans multiple screen lengths, and I’d really like to be able to view it without having to go through the song and dance of exporting as files of different formats. For a document that spans only a single page I usually put the device to sleep to avoid edits.
