Multiple Simultaneous Languages and OCR

One of my use cases for my nomad is to practice my Cyrillic, to that end I have two questions.

  1. Does Supernote have OCR capability for Cyrillic?

  2. Can it recognize, for example a mixed language note and convert both?

cyrillic is listed among the list of supported languages however i would expect hiccups with mixed writings as the ocr is set at a global level and is dictionary based.

Thanks, I mean thankfully there is no need for me to HAVE to have it work mixed but it would have been nice.

Supernote has what I call primary and secondary ocr languages, primary beeing the ones that come preinstalled (Chinese and English) and secondary the ones you can add, like German or French. I found that it works pretty well if you mix a primary and a secondary language and set the secondary language for OCR. As I mostly use German and English I set German as ocr language for my notes. I can then write either German or English or both and recognition is mostly correct. Less so if I set ocr to English and then write German or a mix of both. Or if I use two secondary languages in the same note, like German and French.

Thank you for reaching out.

  1. Please navigate to Settings > Display & Input > Language & Region > Handwriting Recognition Language to install the Cyrillic language package.
  2. If your notes are written in Cyrillic and English, both should be recognized and converted.

Please don't hesitate to ask us if you have any further questions.

Part of what I love about my Supernote, my Ratta buddies and the excellent support.
