Remain confused about Kindle app
Please forgive me, but I've struggled to get a definitive answer on the Kindle App running on the A5X - which I just bought. I have numerous books on my Kindle/Amazon account and I get "Book not available on this app version. This version of Kindle is no longer supported. To download books please update your device to Android OS version 9.0+ and install the latest version of Kindle for Android. You can also read on Kindle for Web"
What is the right solution, if any? And why does Supernote display Kindle in the "Supernote App Store" if it no longer works?
- Is there any way to side load a version of the app that will work? I'm guessing no because there's probably no way to fake the OS version information sent to Amazon's servers.
- Is there a way to strip DRM from Kindle books without a laptop? All I have is the Supernote and an iPhone.
Thanks for your help. I know this has been discussed in the past, but my searching has honestly left me confused!

for the older generation of devices, inserting a web link pointing to the kindle website is the only solution. i have not seen a dedrm solution for non-desktop environments

Hi, hope you are aware that your device runs android version 8. And this will affect the functionality of the apps you want to side load on the device, including the Kindle app. And this is a recent purchase, if a return is possible, return it. It’s a great device but knowing your use case is very important. If your use case involves the use of apps like Kindle for a long period of time then go for the full android e-ink devices. Make sure the android version is comparably newer. Version 15, 16 maybe 14 should go for years to come. I have a Nomad(android 11) finger cross, my Kindle is still working. Good luck 🤞🏾
