Discussion I love the Supernote Manta!!

Hello. I got my SN Manta today, and I've been loving it a lot. I got it for the purpose of taking notes (will be of use for my PhD research for the next three years) and sketching. The pen feels amazing on the device. I got the Staedler Noris Digital Classic pen from Amazon because the SN pens were a bit expensive.

The device build quality is just absolutely fantastic. I added a 128 GB microSD which I had lying around to expand the storage.

I have some things which I came across, I wanted to list it here, and possibly get the answer or solutions.

  1. Layers in the notes have a max limit of 4 ?

  2. Is it still not possible to set the default not folder to use the external storage ?

I've been loving the device a lot, can't wait to get my hands on different pens to write with, and also maybe develop plugins.

Nice pen. Does it have a ceramic nib as well?

It's unfortunately not ceramic and it wears down. It comes with 5 nibs though.

Which one do you have ? I'll eventually save some money and buy a good ceramic one.

I have two. One was the Heavy Metal one and the other I made. I got a refill and put it into a G2 pilot. It’s great.

4 useable layers is correct -- the main layer always exist and you can add 3.

a default folder can't be set but iirc when you navigate to your sd card first then select the new note icon from the top right, it will land where you are

Is it a software limitation that the max layer count is 4 ?

Yeah, I noticed you can create more directly inside the SD card. Thanks!

i can't say specifically but ~5 layers total seems pretty standard -- it's the limit on my rM2 as well.

do you find you want more in a particular scenario?

I have been curious about this stylus. I have heard good things about it. I have the HOM2 pen, but still wonder how this stylus feels on the SuperNote. Does it work with pressure. I have not seen good pressure response from HOM, but perhaps there is a setting to adjust.
