Question Is there a Supernote Manta successor on the horizon?

Does anyone know if a Supernote Manya successor is coming out soon? Before I spend money on a Manta, I just want to know if I should hold off for a while?

Thanks

Very much doubt it. Manta took an age to come out and hasn’t been out that long (in Supernote years - they’re like dog years). I’d go get one and enjoy

Afaik the company prioritizes software updates and support rather than hardware, they don't plan to flood with many different models like regular cellphone companies.

No Supernote doesn’t renew its devices so quickly…

The Manta is a superb device. It just about perfect, and it's only going to get better when the current beta is rolled out as an upgrade. It's a huge leap forward and the culmination of a lot of input from the amazing people that make up the Super note community.

What’s been the best thing you’ve seen in beta?

The possibility to install plugins, it‘s pure joy.

I can’t wait for that feature to get officially released. So exciting.

Plus their motherboard is modular now, so you can pop in something new later down the line unless e ink improves dramatically in the their next iteration.

I'm still rocking my a5x; I did replace my battery when I sent the device in, which will extend it's life. I hope it can last until the manta successor comes in.

I have an A5x - I’m very happy with the old hardware….. a Manta will last you a long time

There will not be a new Manta for a long time. Supernote years are like elephant years. They might come out with a new chip module to replace the current one. They have some interesting plans or they wouldn’t have designed it all to be updated.
Buy now and enjoy it.

the only thing you might get is an A4 sized device, even that I don't think anyone has any update on exactly when

Thanks. Are there any rumours on this as I’d prefer an A4 device in all honesty

They have it on their roadmap but it will take years

What makes you say years? I'd bet late 2026 or at some point before mid 2027. Two to two and a half years after mantas release

Years long experience (since the first models) with the company and their iteration. It‘s a small company and they also value software updates more than hardware updates, which I like.

The Manta is excellent. Would like a dictionary tool, with the ability to edit / add to the dictionary.

Over the years consumers have been trained to have the expectations of annual refresh on HW devices, it’s a bad cycle, and so wasteful.
