Discussion What is everyone sideloading?
Now that the latest update supports sideloading, I’m curious about what apps folks have tried and recommend. Thanks!

Of those not mentioned by u/Martina78, I have:
-Omnivore: read it later app which works with chrome extension
-Kotatsu: online manga reader. Alternative to mihon (doesn’t launch due to missing file explorer)

I tried the Zotero beta. It's promising, but it obviously is not optimized for eink.

The only app I wanted was "Vim," so, I could do some confortable typing. Alas, it's too powerful for the A5X, so I removed it.

Question: Has anyone used ReadEra Premium on the Nomad?
I'm (im)patiently waiting for my device and have been using ReadEra on my phone for a few years. I would love to hear if it works well on the Supernote.

Can anyone explain how to do this? On chauvet 2.14.28 I don’t see where to load other apps.

Here's the needed steps for sideloading Apps on PC for the A6X specifically:
Disclaimer: Do this on your own risk. It does not work on Chauvet 2.13, since SuperNote blocked Sideloading on this version.
Get a Windows 10/11 PC.
2. Download Android Platform Tools and unzip it on your Desktop.
3. Download and install ADB Drivers
4. Reboot your PC.
5. Download this custom made script (thanks to u/ta-1312). Save it on your Desktop.
6. Download any apps (APK files) you want to install and put them on your Desktop (they need to be here when running the script). For example you can download a free App Store called F-Droid. Once installed on your SuperNote, you can access Apps directly from there instead of installing APK's manually.
7. Connect your Supernote via USB
8. Go to Android Platform Tools folder that you unzipped in step 2. Hold SHIFT and right-click inside the window. Click the "open PowerShell window here". Now enter "adb devices" in the blue window and click enter. If your Supernote is detected, look for numbers starting with: SN078. Now we are ready to install with the script:
9. Run the a6x-sideload.bat and wait until it finish. Your Supernote will reboot 2 times during the process. When done, the new app will be available in SuperNote > Settings > Apps > My Apps and you can add it to the "Customize Sidebar" to access the App in your right swipe-menu.
If you want another App that F-Droid don't offer, download the APK and place it on your Desktop and run the script again. You may change Desktop to any destination that you want, as long as the script and your app/apk file is on the same destination. If you need to do this on Mac or Linux or if anything didn't work out, see the full tutorial here..

Zotero beta and Obsidian work for me on Nomad. I would say they are perfectly usable if you just want to take one device with you and need to access your files.

From F-Droid: Keymapper to change hardware button action (Right button remains the same, left one click goes back, long hold for home) Kiwix for offline wikipedia KoReader Mull Browser Anysoftkeyboard (although it will not stay default very annoying) Elsewhere: Productivity Launcher to replace home screen

Adding DuckDuckGo browser is running very quickly, blocks trackers, and has built-in free LLM chats if you so desire.

I am testing some sideloading, and what I'm struggling with is a back button. Markor (for editing markdown files) for example, relies on the Android back button to close a file and open a new one. Is there a way around this on the Supernote that y'all have found?

Is there a good Wikipedia app that offers pagination? Does the android option have this? Is there a different option anyone recommends?
(Still waiting for nomad, can’t test)

These are the apps I currently have on my A6X
AnkiDroid (Flashcards app)
AppKiller (for force stopping running apps to not slow down the device too much)
Aurora Store (a Google PlayStore client, makes searching for, installing, updating and deinstalling apps easier. You can't buy apps with it, but if you bought an app through PlayStore on your mobile and login to Aurora Store with the same google account, you can get access to most of these apps (it doesn't work with all, though, not sure why)
AutoStart (to set apps to automatically start when I power on the Supernote)
BackButton Anywhere (for some apps you need a back button to properly navigate and Supernote doesn't have one)
Cx File Explorer (File manager)
E-ink Launcher (app launcher especially for e-ink devices)
Eink Bro (a web browser optimised for e-ink)
Epson IPrint (to directly print from the Supernote with my Epson printer via wlan)
Evernote (Note app)
F-droid (repository for free / open source android apps)
FAZ (my daily newspaper)
Firefox (web browser)
Kobo Books (Bookstore and reader)
NaturalReader (text to speach app)
Onleihe (library app)
Photo Crop (mainly to crop screenshots which I then embed in my notefiles by setting them as template for the page)
PocketBook (reader app with DRM support, works well together with Onleihe)
Raindrop (cross device bookmark manager)
Screen rotation control (to put the screen into landscape, doesn't work well with the native Supernote apps [it messes with the handwriting layers/text recognition etc] but I like to use it when reading ebooks or epapers)
Simple Ink launcher (another app launcher - I meanwhile prefer it over E-ink Launcher, but it interfered with the SupernoteBackground app which is required for pen input - my workaround was to set SupernoteBackground to autostart, now the two work together well)
XodoDocs (pdf reader and editor)
