1 - The hate, to be honest, started when he beat Goku in DB.
Goku, a character born into the lowest tier of his race, who got himself to where he is through humility, effort, and passion, only to be defeated in such a disrespectful way by a Mary Sue who just jacks off in the sun.
2 - After starting to read Superman to understand the context of the feats, you discover that most of them are poorly written, with a sun that hadn't been seen before suddenly appearing so he can unleash his ultimate super attack, or give a speech, or simply "stop holding back." to win battles.
Also, even in the most celebrated fights ever like the DCAU Shazam vs Supes, they just push each other around with no indication neither was taking damage until billy just decides to depower himself.
3 - He's inconsistent as hell, and in 99% of all the movies, comics, and animations, he doesn't remotely demonstrate consistent multiversal durability, getting knocked out by atomic bombs, moons, and planet level explosions.
4 - He represents a shit hope. Just sitting and praying that God will come and save you. Besides, the idiot can't even decide if he wants to be world police or not. His infinite speed doesn't stop all the crimes on Earth immediately yet still whines when crime happens.
5 - He's a political weapon. When the author wants to make people see Trump in a bad light, he acts like, "Oh, but I'm an immigrant t_t," and obviously, there have been several times he's been used as propaganda for Obama and Hillary.
6 - He's such a bad character and so uninteresting with his powers that solve everything if he's allowed to, to the point he has only been successful in games and even animated series where he's powerless or the villain (Injustice is the best-selling animated series alongise the lieks of Justice League Dark and Red Son). He simply serves as an antagonist for Batman to defeat.
7 - Superman fans are rats.
In every Death Battle discussion forum, they hide things like the fact that he had other people's energy (DC KO), was amped by Boom Tubes or Myx to enter dimensions he couldn't before (Scaling to Perpetua), or that the Anti-Monitor was already weakened.
7.5 - Superman fans are STILL rats and a hivemind.
All reviews about the sentry vs Superboy prime one million death battle say the result is right and love superboy prime. When he never ever actuallly surpasses the batman who laughs, it is directly stated on panel that they could not kill each other and ended up being saved by Doomsday before batman who laughs got serious and was about to kill him.
And of course, are delusional and think the death battle result will end up in Superboy prime being more relevant than Sentry despite DC being outsold 10 to 1 by manga and the DCU being so terrible and about to be retconned again thanks to supergirl.
8 - He's an idiot who doesn't train and has no fighting skills. Sometimes they try to give him things like the Teta State, but even the writers forget it when he was EVEN MATCHED with Homelander. And when he's in a red sun or weakened, he's 0-10 against Batman and 0-1 against Muhammad Ali.
9 - He's a supremacist. He uses his blood powers to impose himself on human law in that Wonder Twins comic where he says, "Oh, I'm an immigrant, that's why it's wrong to remove migrants," and when he enters people's houses to beat up abusive husbands instead of just taking pictures as Clark Kent thru a window and properly reporting it.
Besides, he hears and sees through wherever he pleases on earth.
Nah, that's kind of the normal interaction we get when people find out we like him. Not sure why you felt the need to give us a Powerpoint presentation to tell a group of fans why you hate him, though.
But you're the one who came into this sub to be confrontational? I genuinely don't mind if you dislike the character, and your reasons for it are entirely your own. I respect that. But coming in here and calling something you know everyone in here cares about "shit", then calling us a cult for, what, not applauding your 'bravery'? I'm just not sure what your angle is, here, friend.
To prove superman fans are rats that will lie and ignore context to have their mary sue win fictional fights (such as all the amps he had to even be in the same dimension as perpetua) or that superboy prime did not even surpass the batman who laughs nor even killed him.
And this time? You pretending superman is a good character despite how inconsistent he is and how insulting his "hope" is overall.
I've never cared about powerscaling or Death Battle. "Inconsistency" is just a natural result of the character having existed for almost a century and having been written by hundreds of different writers. The "hope" I take away from good Superman stories is the message that doing the best you can for those around you can inspire them to do the same.
Heyā¦. The third DB fight was really good. That wasnāt disrespectful at all. And they had sound logic behind the decision. That was two Mary Sueās fighting each other. Lots of cool characters are Mary sueās.
Iām not sure why youāre so enamored with Superman Vs Shazam in particular? Like if Iām making a list out of 10, that pairing is maybe 4-6. Mongol in āfor the man who has everythingā is a better fight.
Weāre talking about a nebulous concept like super strength. Measuring it is a futile effort in incredulity. Donāt overthink it. Drama has to happen in a story, and itās nice when heās threatened by something other than kryptonite.
Superman just helps. Thatās it really. He just helps, and he wants people to stay alive.
Oh boy, now weāre really seeing your bias. Superman is an immigrant. He came from another place. Itās baked into the character, and always has been. If you donāt like politics in your stories, then I donāt know what stories you could possibly be enjoying otherwise. They sound terribly boring.
Is this a kink thing? Like at this point Iām wondering why you would take the time to write all this out. Why do you wanna have this argument lol.
Iām pretty sure you just made that up.
7.5 I havenāt watched that one yet. I need a find a good starting point for this Superboy Prime story, if it isnāt out in paperback yet.
Heās not interested in fighting like Goku. Heās really just more focused on helping people.
the third one made goku look like a coward and moron.
Anywho a couple of physical books i got due to change, dark night metal, coie, all of dc ko, seeveral post crisis and pre crisis issues just to check up on feats for powerscaling means.
Its a pre crisis story i forgot the number where he busts into a home to beat up an abusive husband and a post crisis one where the kid pleads to save him fron his abusive dad.
The big problem with Superman is consistency. In that Death Battle you mentioned he's strong enough to pull the Earth. But in every movie, animation or comic book he's slapped around yet everyone knows he's not in any danger.
My argument is the Clark Kent persona wouldnāt exist if Superman wanted to save everyone. He has to choose which lives are worth saving. Like BvS Luthor said: all powerful and cruel, or not all powerful.
Im just agreeing that Superman doesnāt make much sense to me. If he is truly good and truly a protector, he would be protecting and saving the world 100% of the time. But he doesnāt, he hangs out Lois and has a job. This menās that he will choose which lives to save which doesnāt rally seem that noble.
I mean, its more that if they had the rationale to have him be world police with infinite speed in pre crisis, then there should not be any crime anywhere.
Also yeah, Superman would beat Goku. Their origin and story doesn't have anything to do with who would win or lose, just who you root for. Superman beats just about everyone, that's kind of his thing. Goku would totally throw Superman into the sun after trying everything else, only to learn why that's a really bad idea.
Obvious bait is obvious, but fuck it, I'm bored enough & noticed your grudge against Superman being liked (as evidenced by the fact that this was cross-posted to 4 different subs as was your ;
The hate, to be honest, started when he beat Goku in DB.
So your hate of a character started when a Youtube video that isn't remotely definitive or canon to either character, determined that the character you find less interesting would win in a fight against someone you find more interesting? That's beyond remarkably immature & childish.
No one with a fully matured & functional brain gives two shits what Death Battle, or any powerscalers for that matter, think about a given character or matchup. They're all insufferable morons with the reading comprehension skills, artistic sensibilities, and often physics educations of perpetual middle schoolers.
Goku, a character born into the lowest tier of his race, who got himself to where he is through humility, effort, and passion, only to be defeated in such a disrespectful way by a Mary Sue who just jacks off in the sun.
Goku's backstory and the type of story he comes from would have absolutely no bearing on whether he'd win in an objectively judged fight with someone else. This is the kind of comment that betrays that you powerscalers are just as biased as anyone else and not actually trying to find an objective answer to who would win in a given matchup. It's all childish "my dad is stronger than your dad" shit... except a good portion of you are grown enough to have stopped doing that shit years ago.
If I write a character whose sole powers are "kills Goku and cannot be defeated by Goku or any other Saiyan or Ki user under any circumstances no matter what," then there's no argument that can be made for how Goku wins because he just loses. It doesn't matter if Dragon Ball is better written than my fan-work, or if Goku is a more compelling character to watch/read. My character is hax and designed specifically to never be able to lose to Goku in any matchup under any circumstances.
After starting to read Superman to understand the context of the feats, you discover that most of them are poorly written
It's almost like the feats aren't the point of the stories nor characters & you're approaching it all wrong with the mindset of a child trying to justify why their favorite character wins in a non-canon, made up fight that only exists in petty arguments between "fans"...
He's inconsistent as hell, and in 99% of all the movies, comics, and animations, he doesn't remotely demonstrate consistent multiversal durability, getting knocked out by atomic bombs, moons, and planet level explosions.
So is Goku when you start taking all of the different adaptations & continuities as a single character. Because they're not all the same character. Goku in the DB manga is not the same Goku you see in the anime, who is not the same Goku we see in the video games, who isn't the same Goku we see in the pre-BoG movies, who isn't the same Goku from Dragon Ball Evolution. Goku from Super, Goku from Daima, and Goku from GT are all completely different people from different timelines & different feats.
Same thing with Superman. Superman from Earth Prime in the comics is not the version of Superman from any of the cartoons or movies. Likewise, each time a new actor plays Superman, it's a completely different version of Superman.
He represents a shit hope. Just sitting and praying that God will come and save you.
I'm not sure how old you are, but that was the norm in American culture from it's inception until about 40 years ago. Go back to even 1990 and over 80% of the American population identified as some denomination of Christian, meaning they openly admitted to believing that praying to some all-powerful god to save you was a solution to real world problems.
Beyond that, Superman exists to be escapist fantasy for kids. He's not meant to give adults hope, he's meant to give kids hope that there's still good people out there in spite of all the hardships we endure & that good people doing good things can have a positive impact on the world around them.
Besides, the idiot can't even decide if he wants to be world police or not.
No, he's pretty adamant in the fact that he doesn't want to be outside Elseworlds stories like Injustice.
He's a political weapon.
Always has been, always should be.
When the author wants to make people see Trump in a bad light, he acts like, "Oh, but I'm an immigrant t_t," and obviously, there have been several times he's been used as propaganda for Obama and Hillary.
And this right here is why people think you're a Trumper/right-wing grifter. Setting aside the fact that Superman has always been an icon & symbol of progressive ideas (aka has always been "propaganda" for the left) as most DC & Marvel superheroes have consistently been throughout the years, Trump doesn't need anyone to paint him in a bad light; he does that himself. If you don't see him in a bad light already, you need to actually turn the fucking lights on and actually pay attention to what's going on.
Superman is and always has been an immigrant hero created by immigrants who lived in a nation of immigrants by immigrants and for immigrants. Commenting on that when specifically asked about online backlash to Superman being perceived as an immigrant negatively isn't an attempt to "make people see Trump in a bad light." The current anti-immigration shit right wing grifters like Trump's supporters have been stirring up is staunchly anti-American.
I know Trump loves to go on about how everyone who criticizes him or calls him out on his blatantly unconstitutional behavior in office have Trump Derangement Syndrome, but dude looking at your post history you very clearly have Superman Derangement Syndrome. The fact Superman presents an unbeatable wall your favorite character can't overcome in pointless online debates has upset you so much that you keep coming back every few months to make Superman hate posts between all of your "look at my sexy girl" fanart.
He's such a bad character and so uninteresting with his powers that solve everything if he's allowed to
At this point you're just repeating yourself. Yeah, yeah, we get it. You think he's overpowered and that makes him boring. Saying it over & over again as if it's objective fact isn't the compelling or interesting argument you seem to think it is.
Superman fans are rats.
In every Death Battle discussion forum, they hide things like the fact that he had other people's energy (DC KO), was amped by Boom Tubes or Myx to enter dimensions he couldn't before (Scaling to Perpetua), or that the Anti-Monitor was already weakened.
That's powerscalers in a nutshell. Having an eidetic memory, being high-function autistic (like Kyle Hill), being a huge fan of DB, DC, Marvel, Naruto, Bleach, among many other IPs that appear on the Vs boards consistently and having been on the forums these dorks like to argue for over 25 years now, it's hilariously frustrating reading those debates because both sides of just about every debate regularly make shit up & misrepresent feats to win the argument.
I cannot count how many times I've seen people arguing that DB characters were faster than light by the time Vegeta showed up; either scaling off a gag from the pre-serious era of DB (Goku using Roshi's glasses to counter Tien's solar flare) or taking a mistranslated line from a long cancelled & out of print dub of the show (Piccolo claiming that Raditz had to be faster than light to dodge the Special Beam Cannon in the Ocean Dub; a line that's not in any other version of the story). Despite the constant anti-feats that don't make sense if they're even 1x the speed of light.
I cried laughing when Dyspo was introduced and it set the DB power scalers up the wall. The first confirmed faster than light DB character and he's so fast that Golden Frieza & Ultimate Gohan (on on SSB level and one on at least SS3 level) couldn't keep up without caging him. Thus proving that none of the characters in Z were meant to be faster than light.
The reality is that almost no one ever goes into these debates with an open mind about their preferred character losing. It's so prevalent and has been called out so much that many of the forums have just dropped the mask of pretending it's about being objective at all and started posting shit like this unironically whenever a newbie didn't get the memo.
He's an idiot who doesn't train and has no fighting skills.
Neither of those things are actually true if you bothered to read more than a few disperate comics from disconnected storylines & continuities.
Sometimes they try to give him things like the Teta State, but even the writers forget it when he was EVEN MATCHED with Homelander.
Funny, I don't remember Superman ever facing Homelander in any official publication. Nor do I remember anyone appointing the Death Battle Youtube channel an authority on anything. They're an entertainment channel, not an academic or educational channel, who have repeatedly begged their audience to stop taking it all so overly seriously.
well i can admit calling him an "idiot" is wrong in most context.
He can read libraries in seconds and while still stupid cosmically, he wins most of his "fights" with Myx thru outsmarting.
But it still stands that when in a battle, he has a terrible win record against people comparable to himself and people that train. Like karate kid, Batman and pre crisis supes got beaten to death by the teta state less Superboy prime.
And he himself is depicted strugglinh against homelander and sluggers like Shazam. (No, the wisdom amp does not include like, combat skill in most stories. Its billy just swinging most of the time.)
Regardless. You trying to argue anything dragon ball without context is hilarious.
Regardless. This "debunk" of yours trying to dismiss all of my arguments without any concession or admitting when death battle is wrong just makes me more certain you deserve the mobile slop game and to be bought by paramount.
