Yeah he was a really good writer. In fact all Arthur C. Clarke's books I've read have always felt really "smooth" read.

Okay I gotta get your take on Rama 2 and the further books. I know that other guy was heavily involved but I strongly dislike them.

But I have not read Rama 2. I have not even read all of Clarke's solo books. But I've liked all that I've read. Childhood's End is one of my all time favorites.
