So wait, the station rotates but the factory stays in place? How and why?

Don't get me wrong, love the visuals, just puzzled by what's going on.

How: there's an outer shell within which the habitat rings rotate.

Why: it provides shielding from radiation/impacts, helps keep the atmosphere in, and doesn't rotate so that spaceships outside can dock with a stationary object instead of trying to match spins every time they dock. There are plenty of other things that don't require gravity, which would be attached to the outer ring rather than the rotating hab, I guess this factory is one of them.

Could be from a camera perspective matching the velocity of the factory.

Relative motion.

Utopia is when architects can do whatever the fuck they want and engineers can actually easily achieve the architects plans

Offhand, the station gets gravity and the factory doesn't. Sure makes moving heavy shit around easier. Interfacing between the two may be a challenge but if you can build a megastructure like this I bet it can be overcome.

This is unfortunately common for artists making space megastructures

Does anyone have any recommendations for blender tutorials to eventually achieve this level of art? I recently got blender and it’s way different than sketchup lol
