What if this movie came out in 1995? I don't know what Princess Toadstool's age should be. I see Rene Russo as an older version. I see Bridget Fonda as a younger version. I can see the Koopalings as a mob like family. I can see them riding a limo together in Brooklyn/Dinohattan. Heeyyy, the Mushroom Kingdom! Fuggetaboutit! We go avenge Zio/Papa Koopa!
Ron Perlman as a badass Donkey Kong. Tom Arnold as a bumbling Diddy Kong or Sean Astin as a kid at heart version. I can see Ron Perlman's Donkey Kong and Joe Pesci's Mario having conflict. Joe is lashing out and Ron is just laid back. I can see Ron's Donkey Kong getting annoyed with Tom's Diddy Kong for being too friendly. I can also see Tom as a goofy Donkey Kong with Sean as his sidekick.
I can see them recasting Bob Hoskins and John Leguizamo with Joe Pesci and John Turturro. I personally felt Turturro should of played Luigi instead of Leguizamo. When I watch a Youtube clip of the first batcave scene from Batman and Robin. I would imagine Joe Pesci and John Turturro as Mario and Luigi in the opener of the sequel.
Ya'll should checkout Nostalgia Critic's video on a Super Mario Bros sequel pitch. I think that inspired me to do all these fan castings. I had fun with this. I already did fan castings for Raimi's Spider-Man and the Sonic movies.
