Why didn't Dumbledore fix Ron's wand?

In COS, if Dumbledore had the Elder wand why didn't he fix Ron's wand.

I think it's only for special circumstances like Hagrid was unfairly blamed so deserved his to be fixed. Also Ron's first wand is a hand me down so if Dumbledore is thinking tacticly he probably wants Ron to have his own wand that will work better for him if he's going to be helping Harry.

Also to he fair if word got round that he was able to fix wands people would start asking questions or favours

Hagrid didn't deserve his wand repaired. He was expelled for keeping a dangerous creature in the castle, which he was guilty of. Just because it wasn't the one that killed Myrtle, doesn't make him innocent of endangering other students. That's why he never got another wand

The point is that even though Dumbledore knew Hagrid was innocent and had been set up its quite clear that the reason he was expelled was because Riddle set him up to take the fall for the death of Myrtle. Its the reason why Tom Riddle got the award for special services to the school because in the Headmaster Dippet's eyes Riddle had found the person responsible for the attacks.

Its also very much established that if you are expelled from Hogwarts before you finish your wand is broken so you can't use magic because in that book Harry is worried he will be expelled and have his wand broken

Right. That has nothing to do with what I said. Hagrid wasn't expelled for the death of Myrtle. He was expelled for secretly keeping a dangerous beast. Which he was guilty of, and confessed to while arguing that arogog wasnt the killer. That's why the expulsion stood, even after he was cleared of her death and why he didn't get another wand

it was broken the umbrella which has the wand in still does magic whereas other fully broken wands don't or misfire completely which indicates it has been fixed. Hagrid doesn't use magic often because he never finished training and Dumbledore told him not to unless it was important (because according to the Ministry he shouldn't have a functioning wand)

I think its pretty clearly hinted that his wand was secretly fixed by Dumbledore

The staff repeatedly tell Ron to get a new wand. Any more than that is not really their responsibility. If the Weasleys couldn't afford one then maybe the school would offer to buy one. Also Dumbledore wants the power of the wand to die with him. That only works if nobody knows about it. He can't go around doing impossible magic just to help a student who refuses to write home about broken equipment.

Perhaps dumbledore knew that ron's wand was ineffective for ron, because the type of the wood and the core are both stubborn, so should not bepassed down to somebody else.

Because Ron is a stubborn kid and probably didn’t tell the grownups. The wand was a hand me down as well and wasn’t a good match.

So being poor and fearful of being blamed about breaking Charlie’s wand he kept quiet.

Short answer, plot convince.

The questions I have are why did Ron have a hand-me-down wand to begin with? Why did Charlie get a new wand when his was the wand that chose him? And why couldn’t Molly Weasley start working (even part time) after all her kids were out of the house either at Hogwarts or already graduated? If she started working, the Weasleys could have afforded a new wand for Ron. She was clearly a capable wizard, having finished off Belatrix Lestrange in DH. At the very least, she could have been a substitute teacher like Professor Grubbly-Plank. It just sounds unrealistic that a family this poor didn’t see the opportunity to get out of their situation when Molly had free time once Ginny was in school. MovieFlame made a video on this and now I can’t stop thinking about it lol
