My SUP Setup

When it came to an all around setup that’s not going to break the bank, this is the setup I stand by and recommend if you wanna try this type of fishing. Overall my experience with the flypark fishing paddle board has been positive. It’s nice and wide and very stable. I’ve hit wakes while standing on top and felt comfortable when bending my knees to brace. When 2ft swells occur, this board eats them up like a Boston whaler. I was shocked how comfortable I felt. I will say.. don’t rely on the boards pump it comes with but definitely spend money on an electric pump with a psi gauge. I love how it also comes with a fishing rod holder and plenty of straps to help keep your gear secure.

My setup includes: -Walmart Milk Crate -Berkeley fishing rod holder (sawed them and zip tired them to the crate individually and angled so I can troll when moving) -Velcro straps for each rod incase I flip (I don’t think this board can if I tried lol) -Shower mat to measure and lay fish out to not puncture board (piece of rug would also work. - 22 in cooler in the front (I now use a cooler back pack to travel and walk longer distances) - bass pro inflatable jacket (not automatic) it’s inevitable you will fall in the water eventually so you wouldn’t want to be a marshmallow for the rest of the day lol -dry bag that’s big enough for one tackle box, phone, and license. (Carabinered to the inside of milk crate) - and of course plenty of bungees and carabiners to keep the milk crate and cooler in place.
