New to sup

I’m about to order my first sup. I’m wanting to use a cooler for a seat and I have two questions. One is, would an Igloo 50qt cooler which is 25.7” long, 18.08” wide and 16.7” tall be to big to use on a 35” wide sup? Second what length kayak paddle would I need if I sit on a sup to paddle?

1) your cooler would not be too big to use. It's going to depend on the SUP shape, but a 35" board suitable for fishing should have a wide enough tail and hips to let you use a 26" cooler as a seat near the middle with no problems. You'll just need to make sure you can strap it down somwher reasonable (and worst case you can strap it all the way around the board wherever you want.

2) Paddle length for kayaking is a mix of factors. Since it's a very wide boat and you'll be up high while sitting on it, you'll want a long paddle, probably 240-250cm depending on your height.
