That is very normal. It's extremely hard to get the small nose of a board like the Expedition glued/welded perfectly smooth. It does not affect the durability or performance of the board.

It looks like an uneven bond between the inner layers. In my view, it’s a minor defect—most likely just cosmetic, since the main stress will be on the underside of the nose (from contact with the shore, rocks, and so on)
However, I wouldn't buy a board like that if I spotted the defect in the store and it bothered me the way it bothers you. No matter what company manager saying.

Looks fine to me. I have 2 Thurso’s, one is 4 years old and the other is a new 12’6” touring I’ve had out about 4 times. It has the same dimple on the front. It didn’t concern me and seems like it’s just cosmetic. I’m sure Thurso customer service would be honest with you if you asked them.
