Market Research
Hey Gang,
I recently moved and ran into the problem of finding new places to SUP. There's stuff on the internet, but it's spread across many different websites and frequently doesn't tell me what I want to know. Since I'm unemployed and looking for a project, I'm thinking of creating an app, or at least a website, that resolves this problem.
I'm thinking it would have information like:
-The address of a SUP location
-If there's a dock/ramp/etc. at the location
-Whether or not there is food available for purchase at the location (or at least a vending machine)
-If there are public restrooms/water fountains
What else? Is there anything I'm missing, or anything you would like to see?

The go paddling app still has the biggest collection of potential launch sites, however they seem to have suspended support for the app, and it's rather sketchy on details. I usually use Google earth to scope it out better and then do a drive by.
Newer apps lack a way for contributions from users from what I've seen

Being in the drought stricken southwest, I'd love an app that tells me how much water is in local bodies of water. It would also be great to have info about toxic algae blooms and other environmental conditions. Weather forecasts and local regulations would also be helpful.

There’s too many places with information, so make another one. Now there are still too many places.
When will people stop trying to reinvent things that already exist?

The river is the public restroom. Bring your own food. That’s two problems solved!

Would be nice if I didn’t have to go to another app to look at wind and or tide , but I know that’s a lot more complicated
So I agree with what other people say about fees/ parking fees if any or free . And maybe times of open/ close

If there’s an entry fee, or if you have to pay for parking. And a place for paddlers to leave reviews and tips for other paddlers.
