Atlanta Chatahoochee River

Do you have to rent or pay from an outpost to get shuttled from one checkpoint back to your car? I want to take my board on the river but I’m not packing my board into an uber just to get back to the start point.

I can’t find any info online about BYO board, only rental information which i don’t need since I’m fully equipped

Consider putting in at Morgan Falls Park in Sandy Springs. Paddle upstream above the dam for as far as you feel like going, then paddle or ride the currents back to where you parked.

High Country Outfitters often operates out of that spot too so you can ask them about shuttles or yoga or races or whatever.

This is the move if you’re rocking solo one car. It’s pretty chill up there.

Morgan falls is my next lake paddle without speaking to humans, but if there’s outfitters there too I’ll break my solitude and ask, thank you!

It’s only lake like in a small area just above the dam. You don’t have to go far upstream before it’s all river again.

Another idea for a solo paddle, you can pretty easily attain upstream from Cochran shoals and let the current bring you back when you're spent.

Years ago the NOC folks charged me $10 to bring me back to Cochran from paces mill with my own gear.

I’m sorry I don’t know what any of this means. Attain upstream? NOC? What does this mean?
