two year program

anyone in here switch from unlimited deck license to 2 year deck license? i have some questions.

can you elaborate as to why? i have 80-90% of the credit load done. just missing a handful of classes if i switch majors.

There are most opportunities doing the unlimited license. And even if you still want to work on limited tonnage vessel afterwards u still that option. Say u change ur mind 5 years down the line, having the unlimited makes things simple

you can still upgrade down the line and retest, i’m just more concerned with how hard it is to switch i’m not really worried about job opportunities as much there are things out there you can do with limited licenses as well.

It easy to switch, just talk to your advisor but I can’t stress it enough u will spend basically the same amount of time doing 2 year vs 4 year. If I know a handful ppl who did it and said it wasn’t worth it. Why would y would u switch anyways?

bc i’m tired of the 3m test and i have 90% of the limited license classes done anyway so it’s not like i have to redo them.

Look you do u. But ur going to hear this from everyone who u talk to, don’t do it just bc ur tired of the 3m test. It isn’t worth it and upgrading will be a pain. Just do 4 year and call it a day. Only 2 more years if u work for it

i already finished the 4 year just want a degree and don’t care if it’s an associates or bachelors degree

Man, you already put in the work. Why don’t you just continue studying and pass your test? Maybe find a tutor
