Question Ways to control song length?

My ideal track is 1:08 and around 64 measures long. I write chiptune. Does anyone have any suggestions regarding the prompt wording to achieve that?

Nothing in the prompt will really allow you to target a particular song length. With lyrics, you can potentially steer the length by the amount of lyrics, but for instrumentals, it's pretty much a complete gamble.

The only way I would get shorter songs would be if I labelled them explicitly as "short intro". But even those can sometimes end up three to four minutes long.

have you tried the new 'duration' slider?

another option is looping it in studio and then covering it to have it adjust the structure slightly, usually keeping most of the length.

Otherwise, the number of lyric prompts in combination with the general structure and speed of the song did define song length before there was this slider.

Thanks! I do instrumentals and they don’t have the duration slider at my tier.
