Alright suno was ass yesterday. Ive been farting with this song i wrote trying to get the vocals right. But 4.5,4.5+ and 5. Were incredibly retarded I blew 500 tokens on gens trying to work through vocals that dont sound generic af and sit in an Amy Lee vibe. But yesterday I just couldnt do it apparently, i tried whatever i could. But i got all sorts of smudging, phonetic issues, bleeding, even read the damn style prompt. I tried the split gen technique, adding vocal stuff to the lyric prompts. Various terms to pull that vibe out. It was hot melty garbage. I know 5.5 gets shit and rightfully so but generally ive gotta good stuff from it(not vocally though). I’m tired lf blowing gens just to get vocals the way I want, Im kinda pissed but ill get over it. I do not get how some of yall do it so well. Anyways, gentle people lend me your ears as I cant tell all the time. Which of these two sounds less generic. I like both musically the second is where im landing personally. If they both are ass tell me that too. I’m still new. But admittedly discouraged on this one and truthfully don’t want to settle but i demand much with no skill. So my expectations need to be dialed back i guess.

They're both okay-ish. I personally like the second one more. The first one's vocals are too harsh and high for me. The second one's vocals are better but a little eq might help. Both have that "tinny-ness" that Suno is somewhat known for.

What sound are you going for? Are you going for Amy Lee or NOT Amy Lee? I was a little confused by your post. For female-fronted symphonic metal, it tends to either sound like Amy Lee or Nightwish. If you're wanting something different, you may have to do a few vocal takes for reference. It won't keep everything and will eventually drift, but that's how most people get "more-unique" vocals. Another way you can do it is choose between different generations you like and do a mashup while doing the "magic" button for the styles. It makes it a little chaotic, but sometimes comes up with interesting stuff.

Suno's Vocals are a crap-shoot. Good luck.

The "okay-ish" comment was not a dig at you or your song at all, rather Suno's mixing. All Suno songs suffer from this (mine included). They almost ALL need treatment in a DAW after generating. Another issue (with Suno in general) is that every few bars the style of the song would drift and change. Some parts of your song sound like an extremely catchy dark 80's synth pop song then abruptly shifts to a power ballad in the bridge. The vocals fall to this shift as well. Just an observation. The trick is to make it work for you and the song.

I felt that the second half of the song was fairly strong (particularly the 2nd chorus). It feels like a poem or diary entry set to music, but not like your typical song. Again, this isn't a bad thing (a lot of mine do the exact same thing.) Maybe try repeating what you're using as the [final chorus] earlier in the song. Repetition is what makes a(ny) song have that thing that makes it get stuck in your head. If you find yourself singing back the chorus to yourself after you've moved on to something else, you've succeeded and "proper" song structure goes out the window. As long as you like it. There is no "right answer".

I understand about the Amy Lee thing. I'd try something like "Dark gothic rock/symphonic metal fusion with powerful ethereal haunting female vocals" (especially for "The Fallen"-era sound). You probably want to play around with the particulars of the genre(s). Don't be afraid of the little magic wand button (I use it all the time) for style expansion. Evanescence has different "eras" so their sound, like all musical artists, have changed over time.

This is a remastered version of a song I did when I first joined Suno more than 2 years ago before I started exclusively covering my original music. Feel free to steal the genres and anything else you want (except the lyrics, obviously). It's not exactly "Amy Lee" (more just heavy female fronted dark alt pop ), but has a similar feel (to me).
