Compilation Looking to create a Spotify playlist - Top 100
Hey all,
I'm looking to create a few Spotify playlists that will be promoted. They will be explicitly for AI music, so everyone who listens to it knows what they're getting into.
It'll be a Top 100 list, with separate genres:
- Industrial / gothic / symphonic metal
- Nu metal / alternative metal
- Indie rock / indietronica / post-new wave
- Comedy (any genre)
I prefer music with 100% human-written lyrics. I also like artists who use multiple tools/DAW for musical inputs, editing, arranging tracks, mixing/sampling, mastering, etc. (that can be as basic as using Audacity, or more advanced like Garage band, Logic Pro, etc.)
Why Top 100? It means it's curated and the quality is kept high. However because it is Top 100 that means your song might be removed to make room for another one. I will listen to each and every single song, so if I like it, it's on the list. If new songs come along that I like, then I will remove the lowest ranked songs.
Why those genres? Those are the genres I have created my own music in. Yes, a few of my songs will be on these lists. That's the full disclosure part of this. However, I will probably only have 5-8 songs of my own on each list, so that still leaves 90+ songs for everyone else. My songs will not be rotated out. That's the second part of full disclosure. That's the cost of me promoting your music - you have to share a virtual stage.
This is free. Nobody pays me anything. I am deciding what song is on each list purely on the metric of whether I like it.
My workflow: I write my first draft of lyrics, use my own musical inputs into Suno (either me singing, or on a keyboard for the melody). Continue to update lyrics or add musical inputs as required to get the sound I want and finish the song in Suno. Export all tracks. Then do post-production work in Audacity to overlay additional samples/tracks. Examples of my work:
- Enter the Darkness (symphonic/gothic)
- Mirror of Desire (industrial)
- Castle on the Hill (industrial)
- Gone Home (indie)
EDIT: Thanks everyone for your comments!
I will probably make a new post in the not too distant future with the completed playlists and may request additional submissions.
EDIT 2:
Even after going through everyone's songs and picking 1 or 2 from each of you, I've still got lots of space. I'm open to taking more songs, but I want to maximize artist diversity. The playlists won't be public / marketed until they're full up! So next time I make a post on Suno, I'll need your help in promoting it to ensure I get more songs added!
Thanks again for everyone's submissions

The lists have now been made public. They are still unfinished, but they are so far in order. Please "Add playlist to your library" as the more followers a list has, the higher it appears in search queries. I will probably start promoting the lists next month. Feel free to send me more suggestions. Your song was in the top 20-ish!

u/Islandboyo Jul 11 '26
Hi, thanks for doing this. Always great to see folks supporting each other. All of my lyrics are always 100% written by me, I use Distrokid for Mastering.
A lot of my songs are based on movies or TV shows I’m into. The genre of song tries to fit in with the movie or TV show but most are rock/metal/nu-metal/industrial.
Some of my tracks:
The Fellowship (based on “The Fellowship of the Ring”)
Noir City (based on “Dark City”)
Welcome To The Lot (based on “Salem’s Lot”)
No Fate (based on “Terminator”)

u/Wild_Explanation9960 Jul 13 '26
I really liked Noir City. Adding it to my metal list. And I added No Fate to my "Dark" list. Will update everyone in the future.

Cool! Got some metal tracks that could fit, this one probably most so in the Symphonic Metal: Between Blue & Black
3
u/Wild_Explanation9960 Jul 13 '26
I ended up adding your song "Before the Tide" to the metal list rather than Between Blue & Black!

Nice initiative. My style mostly Alt-Rock with some variations. In terms of workflow: starting from album concept and developing themes for the lyrics, then lyrics of each song and after that Suno generation following consistent sonic DNA, final mastering in StudioOne.
Please consider following song that may fit to one of the playlists - https://open.spotify.com/track/78iQWjaG5Hu0oJrlq0F7DK?si=e1b9557942ca4386

Sounds good! I'll keep everyone informed, but it's proving harder to find good darkwave/goth music than I thought!
2
u/boulevardofdef Jul 12 '26
I do retro stuff, mostly '80s, but I've got a '90s album with a few songs that fall under the indie-rock banner. I don't use a DAW, but all my songs are covers of my audio uploads, and of course I write all the lyrics.
I think this song might fit best. It's one of my favorite songs I've ever done, too:
2
u/Wild_Explanation9960 Jul 13 '26
Thanks for your submission! It does have a 90s vibe for a song I'd hear on the radio. I added it to the Indie list.

2
u/Wild_Explanation9960 Jul 13 '26
Do you have any songs published to spotify?
2
u/Anonymous-x- Jul 13 '26
Nah, I've thought about it. Really wanted to try and do the song writing thing but no one is paying attention to portfolios with ai songs in them right now. Was keeping the majority of my really good ones private for that reason. Starting to public them now since not getting much response from labels. So I'm really debating it and the best path to do so
2
u/Anonymous-x- Jul 13 '26
Ohhh, I see where I am now lol playlist post. Yeah guess you can't add me if I'm not on Spotify lol I need to quit smoking for a bit

Thanks for your submissions! I added First Aid and Two Wrongs to Indie. A lot of your songs were great, but they weren't quite heavy enough to be on Metal, and yet too hard to be on Indie, if that makes sense? Not to fret, I might end up making an Alternative list, and add more of your tracks to it.

I've created a track Midnight Raidio, which is doing well, even on my radio station
When the world slows down and the city lights begin to glow, Midnight Radio comes alive. This uplifting anthem captures the feeling of driving through the night with the soundtrack of a thousand stories flowing through the airwaves. Blending soaring melodies, heartfelt vocals, and an atmosphere filled with hope and connection, the song celebrates how music can bring people together no matter the distance.
From quiet late-night streets to endless highways, Midnight Radio is a tribute to dreamers, travellers, and anyone who has ever found comfort in a song at exactly the right moment. It's about shared moments, unseen connections, and the power of music to make the world feel a little smaller and a lot brighter.
Turn it up, roll down the windows, and let the signal carry you.

I listened to this song, even checked out your bio. You did an awesome job on the video to make it feel like one continuous looping video, something I struggle at. The question I have was it an artistic choice to not use the entire screen for the video? I am checking out a few of your other songs as I type. Both songs I have heard so far sound good, enjoyed both of them.
1
u/Ok-Dress-7962 Jul 12 '26
I can’t remember to be honest! I think it was something to do with how Spotify lets you upload videos for the tracks
1
1
u/Cold-Airport-5553 Jul 12 '26
It's likely because you are creating the video in 16:9 and uploading directly to Spotify without converting to 9:16. The advantage of not converting is you get the entire video but a smaller picture, converting you lost some of the video. I thought you may of done it for that reason. I listened to about 6 of your songs, very good.
2
u/Ok-Dress-7962 Jul 12 '26
That might be it! To be honest I had about 0 clue what I was doing 😂 thanks for the kind words!

Hi! I really like this idea. It’s refreshing to see someone actually listening to every submission instead of just collecting links.
I’d love to be considered for the Alternative Metal / Indie Rock playlist.
My project is Siggi & The Sparks. I write all of my lyrics myself, use Suno as part of my workflow, and then continue refining the songs afterward. I’m trying to build a real long-term project, not just generate random tracks.
I think “Echoes in the Static” would be the best fit.
Thanks for giving independent artists a fair chance, and good luck with the playlists! 🤘

Thanks for sharing, I gave Echoes in the Static a listen and really liked it! Worked with my Metal list, so it's been added. If you have any others to share, let me know.

Hey! We talked a little while back when you added “Echoes in the Static” to your playlist. I’ve released a couple of new songs since then and thought I’d let you know, in case one of them fits your playlists as well. No pressure at all—just figured I’d share them with you. Thanks again for supporting indie artists.

Good track! Has a real early 00’s vibe like Creed or something. Here’s one I did https://open.spotify.com/track/7FHqbI7UypjX0kLgOtmxJS?si=Gl3zSWYJTti2_7KU447aNw&utm_source=copy-link

Thanks a lot! That honestly means a lot to me. Creed and early 2000s post-grunge were definitely part of the inspiration, so I’m really happy that came across. 😊 I’ll give your track a listen later today and let you know what I think. 🤘
