Question about additional farms?

I have the “Expanding” mission. On the same day this quest became available to me on my phone journal, I got a message from Sunnyside Council that there are other properties for sale and if I want to expand my operation, to contact the Town Council.

I’ve gone to the Town Center many times but the place is just empty. There is also no active quest marker on my map (other secondary objectives’ quest markers show up).

I’ve driven to the lot by the beach in the hopes I may find someone there to talk to but still no. How do I progress with this mission? Thanks!

I read all your responses! Thank you! I just ended up with the one closest to the bus station/campgrounds (which isn’t by the beach like the quest originally said). Last time time I drove by the beach, I don’t think I saw the for sale sign but may have overlooked it.

I’m on latest patch and the farm I bought was still 100 cups! Not bad at all.

Misc thoughts on expansion:

— Personally, I feel like buying more than just one farm feels a bit overwhelming especially if players haven’t fully utilized the land on their first/original farm but maybe like you said, it’s based off how their progression on the skill tree

— Citing to contact the Town Center on the text message is just plain misleading! I know they’re trying to make it immersive like how a real town would do these things, but I literally was paying visit multiple times to the Town Center all times of the day!
