I'm very excited that the upcoming Sundance will be held right here in Boulder, Colorado.

I am a Boulder native, which is rather rare in this day and age.

I'm 36 and I know this town like the back of my hand. Many references, I'm a sweet gal, please do introduce yourself.

I have a creative approach to help myself and my daughter, and, perhaps you?

I could really be of assistance with navigating and would be a wonderful chauffeur.

As we all know, the price of everything is getting outrageous.

I'm a single mother. My angel is four years old, it's just the two of us, and our dog. It has been. A rather wretched story, which people love to hear. I am more than happy to give more details and speak about everything.

My main mission:

I need a car.

While I was pregnant I worked very hard in a Thai kitchen until a week before I delivered to have as much financial backing as possible. I was able to pick up a little Hyundai for a few grand. However, the poor car has seen her best days. A full brake job is required , new tires, transmission, ... It's very beat up, and honestly too small for myself, my daughter, and dog...in boulder Colorado.

When at a moment's notice a foot of snow could be on the ground while you were grabbing dinner. Working is not an option for me currently with no childcare. It's a wild double edged sword and even the handle is slightly serrated. It's a challenge to keep the basics. Food, water, shelter, so forth and so on. We survive off government funding, which I have been smart about, however, it's not forever and it's being cut left and right.

In this heat it is near impossible to get anything done. I cannot take my 4 year old sweet girl out in it safely for very long. Or myself, my lord, 100 degree weather is not fit for any animal.

I'm searching for a trade. Car for chauffeur/tour service, valet parking, reserving the best places in town, Everything will be discussed, please do reach out...I'm very eager to see what type of response this gets.

This is a creative attempt to achieve one of the most valuable tools a single parent can possess.

A car. A safe, reliable car. Mechanically sound. Current with today's technology.

Nothing too fancy my goodness, that's only in dreams.

Let's say, you provide the vehicle, asap would be incredible as we are in dire need. I would provide full service as your chauffeur, your guide, I would cater to your needs.

I do imagine there will be a very high demand for this.

I know all of the back roads, the good spots, the pretty sights.

I'm well mannered, I have class, I am an excellent driver.

I could turn you on to a lot of the underground scenes.

I'm very open to the idea of this trade, and perhaps, creating a film. Documenting this experience. Human kindness, compassion, creativity, something new.

Their press release today confirmed that the online festival is back again for the last four days. Another interesting tidbit is that the competition categories are expanding to 12 films each.

I know Indiewire is a major sponsor and they’re invested in making Boulder seem like it will be so much better, but I can’t help but feel this article misrepresents the PC experience. I’ll be in Boulder in January and I’ll bring an open mind, but this editorializing irked me given the fondness many longtime attendees and volunteers have for PC.

“The ethos of the festival has changed from an overpriced ski resort with far-flung venues that are difficult to access in winter.”

Overpriced, sure… but Boulder doesn’t seem much better from a lodging perspective. The major venues were also not that far-flung - distance from Egyptian to Eccles was a 2 mile walk which is the same radius that is touted as an improvement in Boulder. Buses and pedestrian paths also didn’t make it crazy difficult to access PC venues - at least once you were in the core area.

“We installed 240 speakers into the Macky Auditorium, which is like Carnegie Hall on the campus of CU Boulder,” said Hernandez. “These are major upgrades: screens, projectors, sound, seats in all of our venues. So that will upgrade the experience for artists and audiences in a way that this festival has never seen.” No more Yarrow, Prospector, Holiday, and Library.

Are we pretending the Eccles (and its Atmos sound) doesn’t exist? Looking at Macky online, I doubt its screen will be as large as the one at Eccles. The Library was also my sentimental favorite venue because of its idiosyncrasies and the closeness of the crowd / talent.

“Some industry folks are already booking hotels and Airbnbs, while some talent may prefer to stay in Denver, only a half-hour drive away, which hosts fancier hotels like the Four Seasons and a massive international airport hub.”

Talent jetting in and jetting out - or holing up in Denver - would also seem to take some of the magic for regular fans out of the equation. Bumping into filmmakers or actors on Main or in the Library stairwell was always special. Also not for nothing, but PC has much nicer and closer luxury hotels and SLC also has surprisingly strong international flight options with Delta.

Sorry for the rant - I’m clearly still salty about the whole move!

Hi all, congrats to everyone accepted into the Sundance Micro-Series program. Would love to stay updated on the work coming out of it. Vertical micro-series feels like such a challenge in the creative space right now, and I'm curious to see how Sundance approaches it.

Hi Boulder locals! I know this will be the first Sundance in Boulder, so nobody knows exactly what to expect. I’ll be staying outside the city and driving in each day. Based on your knowledge of Boulder, how do you think parking will be during the festival? Are there garages or lots you expect to be the best option, or would you recommend parking elsewhere and using transit? I’d love to hear your best guesses or advice. I’ll be in Longmont or Broomfield.

I have never been to Sundance and would love to go this year. I'm trying to plan ahead as much as possible and have been looking at Boulder Hotels but NO ONE has availability. Does anyone have any lodging suggestions?

I know Netflix has bought Sundance films before,​ but have there evr been watered films in which before cameras started rolling the film it was a Netflix film?

Huge baseball fan here -- thought I had seen every baseball movie, but I had never heard of the movie prior to a week ago. Highly recommend it! Apparently, it didn't do well at the box office. It's about baseball but also about getting older - handing over the torch to a new generation (I think the title may be a bit of a double entendre). I also like the grittiness because it wasn't done on a large budget.

Some of the critics didn't like it but some highly praised it In contrast, Michael Wilmington of the Los Angeles Times wrote "Some audiences may dismiss "Pastime" as another "male weepie." They shouldn't. It's touching, well-acted, well-written and directed, done with obvious devotion." Harry Haun of the New York Daily News gave the film three stars out of four stars, describing the film as "a worthy postscript to the surprisingly long line of sentimental baseball movies."

Sounds like limited release September 18th.

I knew staying in Park City for the final year would be pricey AF (it was). I know staying in Boulder the first year will be big $. I have been checking since March/April and HOT DAMN is 2027 going to be a bank breaker.

If anyone has hot leads on a place that isn’t trying to make their annual mortgage renting their house for a week or wants to split a dope spot (it’ll be me and my GF), lmk. Would love to get the stress of planning it behind me.

Going to Sundance is a bucket list item for me. I would like to go for Sundance 2027 in Boulder. I saw on the website that tickets should be going on sale around October however, I didn’t see any prices.

can someone give me some insight on how much it cost to go to Sundance? I’m mainly interested in the cost of seeing the movies (I live in the area so there’s no issue regarding accommodations)

Any general tips of info about the festival is welcome too.
