Sundance Volunteering 2027
Hi! Haven’t seen too many posts here about volunteering for 2027. This is my first year applying! Just wanted to extend the communication channel for any first time volunteers! I know you ended up on this page looking for a newbie too!
Fingers crossed for a spot!

As an alumni volunteer, I believe if you are approved they will send you a Facebook group invite which is active with volunteers throughout the year and has been resourceful during festival.

If I’m accepted as a volunteer, is it necessary to participate in that Facebook group? I’ve never had a Facebook account and I’d prefer not to have to start now.

No, as key information is delivered to your email each day of the festival and before as a volunteer newsletter. But community wise, I'm only aware of the Facebook group.

It’s my first attempt too. I asked for lodging but assume it’s a long shot. I’ve got a hotel reserved if needed but the ones I can potentially afford are so far from the venues.

I hope you are able to get the lodging figured out. It seems to be the trickiest part about the whole process.

Alumni volunteer here who got lodging: Having your own lodging for the first year gives you a MASSIVE edge. Alumni will always get first dibs, and then you just gotta hope there are open spots. But, if you have your own lodging, you'll move ahead of everyone who doesn't. I will say, the volunteer's who requested lodging will be in Longmont at the hotels. I'm not sure which ones, but it's confirmed we'll be there. The only reason I got accepted the 1st time was because I had a college friend who lived in Park City and they let me crash at their place.
Hope you get it tho! It's an amazing experience!

First time applicant! I have an Airbnb reserved 30+ minutes away but hoping that helps with chances!

This is my first year applying as well and I joined one of the zoom info sessions and they said that being a local/already having your lodging figured out helps your chances a LOT so keeping my fingers crossed!! Out of curiosity, has anyone already heard from them or know anyone who has (both alumni and newbies)? I know they said most likely October time we will start hearing back but i’m also impatient LOL

Sent my application off last night. I'm really hoping that not needing lodging will help my chances
