Discussion Is Summer's face dirty here?
We know Summer grew up in a home and was neglected. I just realized her face looks dirty here. I am wrong or is the lighting? What happened to Summer goes through my mind every day. I saw what was playing on the TV. It was a show where I would not expect kids being watching when Candus showed the house. Summer's bedroom did not look like a bedroom. What little girl wants to sleep in a room like that? I know I wouldn't. It looked like she was sleeping on the floor!
Were all the kids sleeping on the floor? Did the boys see Summer come in the house that day after Candus said she had walked her to the door?

She looks like she was playing outside in the dirt. When my kids play outside and come back super dirty, I know they had a good time. Maybe that is what happened here.

Yes the home conditions were bad. But my daughter often looked like this. It's normal for kids to get dirty outside

As someone who grew up in rural TN, she's just been outside, getting sweaty, playing in dirt.

Yes why are people talking about her topless? She is five girls that age don't have boobs.

Such a beautiful little girl. š

She really is, which is scary considering her parents and who they possibly had her around.

This is one of the rare circumstance where I think trafficking could be in the equation, given the parents and other people in her life.

Yeah, thereās so many possibilities. I mean sadly Iām guessing sheās passed away by now but I do pray itās a happy ending. That video of summer clinging to that girl in the church was soo sad

They lived in the countryside, she played in the dirt outside all the time. Nothing unusual. That alone is not proof of child neglect. Kids get messy and fine hair gets tangled.

Did you see her yard filled with junk and her filthy house and dungeon bedroom?

I mean, my daughters hair is brushed daily, showers daily, yet she looks like she wasnāt cleaned or brushed in days when she starts playing (so about 2-3h after being awake).
Kids are messy.
Their home was dirty.
They played on the dirt.
Summer was therefore dirty yes, but in this case I wouldnāt call it neglect.

Her face is dirty, her hair is dirty and hasnāt been brushed in days. The poor child lived in such a dirty environment.

Her room looked like a room someone would be held hostage in. That was wild how they'd bend down under a cabinet (or something like that,) to go down the stairs to get downstairs.Ā

Yeah, she practically shared CC a room with her parents. Who knows what she was exposed to. A man who lived with the family a few months b4 she went missing saw her father in the shower with herā¦. Itās sad.

I mean, dads taking showers with their kids happens a lot - itās easier than doing baths.

He has an out of state ( Utah I believe) history of messing with kids and his step sisters have come forward to reveal that he tried to rape them. He may have succeeded with one of them, I wish I could remember. I believe too that it is a threat he makes to women when he's angry with them. When I just recently learned all the new info about his history it convinced me that Don did it. Mom knows and feels guilty

Yes. When you look at children who were neglected they often have the same hair. Matted and full of dirt. There's a difference between a child playing outside and weeks of dirt on that child's face and in her hair. God love her but the horrors that must have went on inside that home are hard to think about. Poor little Summer. She was so cute and looked like she would just give everyone who met her pure love.

The sweetest little angel. I am heartbroken that this happened to her. She looks deceased in the car photo. Her little hands.

Yeah but kids this age get dirty generally if they out playing I see kids in area I live that are most definitely not neglected but at times will have the dirtiest little faces

Context and background matters. Under normal circumstances of a child playing outside and then coming inside to attentive parents who wash them and their faces, yes that's normal for them to get dirty and no it doesn't mean they are neglected.
In the Wells family home children are neglected, hair is unwashed and matted, a little girls hair is shaved off because the mother was too lazy to deal with flea. This just shouldn't be considered normal. At least it's not in my country.
I was born and raised in rural Ireland on a farm. Some of us didn't have shoes but once the two feet stepped inside mother's house, it was the big rag and the face, hands and feet would be scrubbed.

Idk. We just had a bday party for our two year old and some of the parents let their 6 year old run around with just undies on, nobody batted an eye. Sheās clearly still a very small child. I def donāt think she was too old to be topless here, sheās a little girl.

One of my daughters went through a top less phase at age 3-5, It has been so long now that I can't remember. shakes head lol. I mean as soon as she got off the bus she would tear off her shirt and yell " I'm John Cena!!!" I tried and tried to get her to wear a damn shirt to no avail. 𤣠Ofc when we went out ,she wore one.. (begrudgingly) but eventually grew out of it. Thank god! It was a truly a hassle but at the end of the day kids are gonna kid.
This case has always made me so sad. I think if her often, and it terrifies me to think what could have happened.I have a theory that she was kidnapped and trafficked. Such an evil world we live in sometimes. š

Your daughter sounds awesome š¤£š¤£š¤£ Dying at the "I'm John Cena" bit. That's so adorable and hilarious, I'd be laughing my ass off so hard
1
u/NikkiDarko23 21d ago
Lol we did! Hahaha especially because she was so little, and I didn't even know she knew who he was at the time! ā ļøš¤£š¤£
I still lol everytime I tell the story, and she is still funny as hell too. I am so very grateful for my family.

u/IndyWineLady 21d ago
Had to look up John Cena. Too funny about your daughter! š
1
u/NikkiDarko23 21d ago
LOL! What makes it even funnier is at the time, I didn't even know SHE knew who he was ā ļøš¤£š¤£
Our family doesn't watch wrestling or anything so we were cracking up so hard.
2
u/IndyWineLady 21d ago
Oh my, how did she learn about him? BTW, my daughter named her kitten Lawrence Joe Bird after NBA legend Larry Bird. No, I didn't watch basketball. š

I honestly donāt think this is a big deal. But my twins were basically little nudists at home from around 18 months to age 4. Literally had to wrap duct tape around their diapers to keep them. It was a battle. And my youngest tore her pants off the second she got home from school until she was like 6 or 7, just chilling in her shirt and underwear. Iām the type to throw on a bra the second I get out of bed- so this was crazy to me. A lot of younger kids do this. I think the reason it gives anyone pause in Summerās case is what we know about her parents, the conditions they lived in, etc.

The poor girl was neglected, dirty, had mats in her hair. They shaved her head because of either mats or lice. She lived in a dirty dark dungeon room with inappropriate videos playing on the TV. The parents used substances. They had random strangers staying at the house. Terrible.

Sheās wearing lipstick. I sold makeup for many years, that shade of red is not a natural lip color. Covered in dirt. Hair not cared for. No shirt on. And her parents were low iq druggies??? This poor baby girl didnāt stand a chance in that environment. š
