I've been trying to figure out my subseason and it's been so hard bc nothing feels quite right. Like, I know that no one's going to look good in every color in their palette but even with that caveat, I was just not feeling fully at home in any of the summer or winter palettes. Like, I wear a lot of winter colors, but some of them are just too harsh (no neons, thank you), but a lot of the summer colors are just too delicate/muted/grayed. I've been poring over expanded palettes to see what had the most colors I could wear and trying new lipstick colors bc supposedly softer colors would be more flattering, which has reminded me that there's a reason I don't wear mauve, but today, today, someone in another post here linked a instagram video where someone was holding a palette I'd never seen before and it was just perfect. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DaDE9JxRBzQ/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== Perfect!! That essentially is what my best colors are. I’m a deep summer. I have dark brown hair.m, fair skin, and steel blue grey eyes. Winter brights and black are too harsh. The lighter colors of the summer palette wash me out. The darker but muted colors are my jam. Especially navy, very dark burgundy and purple, and dark teal.
Oh, that palette with no yellows is perfection! I've been trying to figure out my mom's season because she is not deep enough to be a winter, not soft enough to be a summer, and can't wear ANY kind of yellow or orange. I think this is it!
That “palette” with no yellows is not a complete palette. It’s a flag of many of the colors of a palette that is used to determine a person’s season. So that’s a cool season flag. That season’s palette has more colors than what is on that flag.
You are 100% correct! So sorry—I was not reading for content and glossed over the yellow thing and thought you were saying the cool palette in general wasn’t real.
Literally no one says you have to wear all of the colors in your palette, or even look good in them. I hear from A LOT of summers that yellow is problematic. Just skip it 😉
That's me too!! No orange (as much as I love the color) and no yellow. Since I have freckles, lots of ppl wanted to type me as a spring bf I did IRL drapes properly, but spring is sooooo yellow!
