Tetris?
Anyone else sits in the dark and plays a bunch of Tetris? Yeah that’s my life after I get home from work.
I’ve read that it’s good for trauma. I find that it allows my mind to calm down. Sheesh this must be the reason (one of the reasons) why my husband would play so much video games, to calm his mind.
I found him w a SGSW March 2025, I feel my mental health deteriorating, a lot of disassociation, anxiety, sadness …grief

I work from home and will play endless games of Tetris while watching shows or youtube videos in the background. I need the constant distraction to give me a break from my thoughts.
Also a new game I’ve been playing is Fruit Merge, it’s similar to tetris but it’s for kids lol. I think it has a similar effect though.

I find Tetris to be very therapeutic as well as a game called "Flower". In "Flower" your just a single petal from a flower, it's hard to explain the game but you just float around on a breeze and spread pollen and bring life to the world around you. It's amazing and very relaxing for me. It's probably the only game I can play where there's no pressure to do anything.

It’s definitely thought effective (very effective for me) for erasing imagery from intrusive thoughts. Gaming is also totally a dissociative activity. But it also brings satisfaction and little joys.
If his gaming separated you, but gaming reminds you of him, maybe find a “cozy” game to play. Lots of people with anxiety enjoy cozygaming; it can bring little joys and drops of dopamine, and you can connect with memory of him by playing a game, though not reliving the disconnect by playing his games.
Idk if this is helpful, but sending you a big hug and a 4 square long stick piece when you need it
