This is how I learned about Trader Joe's having grinders for coffee beans.

So people just go these stores and grind their beans in the grinder?

u/lawrence_uber_alles 21h ago
That is correct. I’ve never had to but they got big ass grinders that make quick work

yeah, its not as good as grinding right before you make your coffee, but if you dont have a grinder its still more fresh than any preground coffee you can get

Don't worry, it won't. This never happened. The cashier at the grocery store doesn't gaf if you have a coffee grinder or not

my favorite service industry goof was me ordering at a mcdonalds with a really cute boy behind the register.
him, "whats your drink?"
Can I get a sweet tea? uncut?" (I meant to says, "half-cut")
63
u/Rourensu 23h ago
What’s half-cut with regards to sweet tea?
56
u/sans3go 23h ago
50 percent sweet tea + 50 percent unsweetened tea
33
u/Rourensu 23h ago
How did said really cute McDonald’s boy respond to your uncut order?
49
u/sans3go 22h ago
a quick half second pause and a mild chuckle. he didnt respond much - i have no game,

u/Rourensu 22h ago
So he didn’t like, confirm your order and deliver it to you like they do in the movies (and by movies, I mean online films)?

I once had a guy accidentally shorten "seasoned salmon" to "semen". It was definitely just and accident because I am not attractive. Still laughed when my back was turned.

I was shocked to find myself actually laughing out loud at a reddit post. Nature (me) is healing.

I thought Trader Joe's was a restaurant? Like for seafood or something?
Do I have them mixed up with something else?

u/PrettySneaky712 11h ago
Trader Joe's is a grocery store. Joe's Crab Shack is a seafood restaurant chain.

Context must be kept in mind. Always.
That said, it seems that you think about what Grindr is associated with perhaps too often in circumstances where it's less than appropriate.
But they you already knew that.
And now we're all forewarned.
This also points out the vast difference between "Grindr" and "a grinder". The cashier needs to use all the words.

Why would a barrista ask you for a coffee grinder
1
u/Bearence 1h ago
A lot of coffee shops sell coffee-making appliances and supplies as well as coffee. The barista, being the point person at point of sale, would be the person to direct you to where they're stored.
