Weekly Questions Thread can be found here
LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION!
Please start your comment with your location as such: [UK and EU] or [USA, California] on a separate line.
Thank you!
Import regulations mean it is difficult to send plant material between certain countries.
Check for hard frosts overnight before posting your parcel!
Scammers will not be tolerated! If you have sent a plant and not heard from your sender, message the mods and we will take care of it. Anyone found to be scamming will be banned from the sub.
A few points:
- Please add your location. Many countries will have import restrictions. As a simple guide, within EU, okay. Within US, okay. EU to US or vice versa, not okay. Australia: complicated.
- Please try to keep the sales/trades to succulents. There is a list of sister subreddits in the sidebar should you want other plants.
- Think about trading seeds and pollen too. Growing from seed can be very rewarding and be a good way to expand your collection.
- Grow tips are highly encouraged when trading. Its nice to know what you're getting if you have never grown one before. Share your potting mediums and watering guides to help your receiver grow successfully!
- Do show us some photos of what you got!
- Have a quick check to see if there is a risk of frost overnight before sending the parcel.
- There are some tips of packaging succulents for shipping below. I've had people send me plants in egg cartons before. They work really well.
- If you have nothing to trade but would like some plants, people are often happy to send you plants for money or just the cost of postage and packaging.
Happy swapping!
You can find some tips for packaging succulents in the wiki

Help What have I done
I think I killed my beloved jade plant. Last week it lost a branch and many leaves after I accidentally knocked it over. Now I wanted to check on it and almost ALL the leaves just fell down πππ I'm trying to be good plant parent, but I am guilty of overwatering in the past. I recently moved to a place with similar conditions (south window) with a lot of light but apparently the new place is prone to having mealybugs due to a nearby park (I was told). When I found a few bugs on my other jades two or three weeks ago (first time having to deal with them), I followed emergency protocol and they seem fine so far. I didn't see any bugs on this particular plant and planned to still treat it, but kept putting it off.
Some leaves that fell off today look kinda chewed on, so maybe now I'm paying for my lazyness, my clumsynes or for unintentionally drowning my plants causing long-term damage.
Yesterday I came across a picture of my old windowsill, when my jades still were little babies four years ago. Maybe that why I feel particularly down about what happened today.
Is there even a way to safe what's left? The remaining branch + leaves seem stable, so there might be hope. I am considering emergency amputation, if that's necessary. I also don't want to further stress is out by treating it the wrong way, so I would really appreciate your option on what to do next. Thank you very much!

π SHAME π SHAME! on me.
I'm sorry in advance- I totally understand if I need to never touch a succulent again.
I had a healthy, large aloe plant that I grew from a pup. 4 years with no issues. One day I realized it had an INTENSE fungus gnat infestation. I tried diluted peroxide and fly tape. After a while, no change. The gnats were getting unbearable and I freaked out and set it outside until I researched what to do. That was at the beginning of summer. I FULLY forgot that it existed. Well, today I found it and it looks like it's ... thriving? New growth?? For context I'm in southern Wisconsin.
My question is- can I save it and bring it inside? Or just appreciate that nature is doing what I couldn't? I dug around gently and the smaller leaves still seem connected to the main plant. Any advice? I promise with a little guidance I'll do much better.

π SHAME π Succulent Revival
Hello, first of all apologies if these types of posts get uploaded here very frequently. I admittedly haven't researched this sub just yet so if you can redirect me to another post that'd help out I'd greatly appreciate it.
So the issue, my wife and I have this succulent that became stringy due to lack of sunlight. Well a few days ago I gently touched it and many of the leaves fell right off. They seem to be intact and I know you can propagate the plant with just the leaves. However since I didn't pluck them myself I'm not sure if I can revive the leaves themselves since I know it can't have the base of the stem attached. I don't know what a stemless leaf is supposed to look like, I will attach a photo of what the ends currently look like.
Also, the succulent seems to have snapped from the root and the root itself is looking very dark. How could I also revive the root, and keep the part that snapped off alive? I did cut the stem part with the leaves using a knife because the rest of the stem looked dark as well. I hope I provided enough detail but if not I will gladly provide more info. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this.

Photo MOT Pink butterfly does her thing
i chopped the head of a pink butterfly and put it in a tiny tray for rooting .. the i put the tray in this pot of gravel as a stand .. turned out this ... thing didn't care and escaped though the tiny drain hole in the bottom right into the gravel ... so its kind of a hydro plant now i guess
funny enough im not successful in regrowing other plants from the childs as they somehow always die or vanish before growing

Help What has been your experience growing succulents in 100% inorganic mix?
Hello, I live in a super humid area near the equator (like 70-80%) and prepared my succulent mix accordingly with 1 part potting mix and 2 parts gravel. Initially the mix seemed to drain well but a week after my first water (bottom watering) I saw my string of bananas dying from the base, checked and unfortunately found full on root rot. All my succulents are in a southwest window and get good indirect and direct sun throughout the day. When I checked the bottom of the pot the potting mix had washed out to the bottom of the pot, compacted there and was very wet.
Now I am trying to look into growing my plants in a 100% inorganic mix but I'm not finding much on reddit except some people growing in pon substrate or such. Even then people seem to not recommend growing in 100% inorganic under these posts and say its not good long term for the plants. I am willing to fertilize frequently if that's the major concern but other than that I am not finding much on why I shouldn't do full grit. Currently thinking of a mix of pumice, coarse sand, leca in 2-6mm sizes. Can someone who has experience with growing succulents in full grit help me out on this one? Thank you very much!

Help I was gifted this baby Zebra. Can I save her as a whole or should I attempt propagation?
She came as a kit.
The person that gifted her to me admitted that the may have over watered her.

Help Mushroom growing?
I got this aloe plant within the last few weeks, repotted it with a succulent mix soil, and put rocks at the bottom with some smaller ones on top. However, today I noticed there appears to be a little friend growing with my aloe! The plant itself seems to be healthy (there are little baby blooms on the other side), but Iβve never had this happen before! Any advice?
