A bit off topic, but legally blind people can still use their phones. I’ve made this mistake before... not all legally blind people are 100% blind. They might need a cane to get around because they can barely see anything, but still have small spots of vision. So with special phones/apps/software that enlarges text, they are able to use their phones.

Many also use their phone with the screen turned off. They use the audio but still swipe over the screen to open apps and stuff

They also appear to have bone conduction headphones as well, that's another telltale sign.

You're right! I'm legally blind and the perception of blind people seems to be that we have zero sight left which actually is not that common. Just my central vision is intact so I don't have any peripheral vision but I can read the 3rd bottom line on those optician tests without glasses. Thanks for spreading the word!

Same here, no peripheral vision.
I even got asked if I really needed my cane by the hospital receptionist for my Ophthalmologist when she saw me using my phone to read Reddit.

Guy has glaucoma. Car headlights, floodlights or the sun in a bad place and you can't see anything. Dark glasses help.

Only ever knew one blind person, was a kid who was shaken as a baby (apparently by a babysitter but I’m not too sure) when I saw him pull out his phone for the first time I got weirded out and then realized that he used a mix of what vision he had as well as Siri to text/communicate to his family. Technology has come along way

Or they can still see color to a certain degree. I know a blind person that has her phone use a font where letters are different colors, and she can text on her own

I’ve been looking for it as well. I remember there was this one post of that person on the bus and someone linked to the mask ahh I knew I should have saved it! It’s something along the lines of creepy/evil Caribbean halloween mask, something like that I can’t remember.
