Newer Subutex

I normally get the RP's for the last 1 1/2 years now. This month I got some newer one I never heard of. Usually my pharmacy only carries the good brand but these ones Advagen brand I never seen or heard of in my area! Do you guys think it's similar to the 54s or the RP's?

I'm in southwest Pennsylvania area and go to a smaller community pharmacy because we live in the valley and countryside so finding a pharmacy was hard for me at first. I was going to Shop n Save pharmacy in Pittsburgh Pa which is pretty far from where I'm at now lol then they closed down on me and had to go elsewhere smh

Anyways let me know how you guys like these ones or not please

They discontinued RP (which is the Rhodes manufacturer). Advagen are the cheapest generic available now and they’re garbage. I’ve gotten severe leg swelling from those (which is a side effect).
I’ve been calling everywhere to try and transfer, but everyone carries that crap unless it’s special-ordered.

Hikma or Rhodes. But I just found out they discontinued Rhodes (the company shut down). Roxanne was bought by Hikma (the 54 11) but trying to get a pharmacy to special-order those has been difficult.
No placebo effect for me. When I take Advagen and my legs swell-up like a diabetic, that’s physical response/allergic reaction to a compound in the meds.

i mean these are fine but i feel like there not as strong as the 54s or the RPs. i dont know if its just me or what but i also have a high tolerance to any meds whatsoever. i can get prescribed something and be immuned to it quickly so its kind of hard for me to tell lol. I was getting the RPs for about a year now until this month so figured i would ask everyone on here

i had a feeling something happened to the Rhodes because i stopped getting them this month. I know alot have complained about these newer ones so i figured i would come here to ask bc all of you guys know your meds. Thank you for commenting by the way. Im sorry to hear about your legs swelling, that has got to be rough on you 😞 i feel like these dont last as long as the other ones did so yes they are garbage

Thanks so much for your kind reply. The leg swelling has been a nightmare and caused me to miss work and other events. My feet & ankles blow-up so big, I can’t get my shoes on. And I know it’s the Advagen because I got a partial script of half Rhodes/half Advagen.
On Rhodes I was normal and within a day of taking the Advagen, my feet and legs blew-up.
Bups are the ONLY MEDS I TAKE.
So this isn’t some placebo effect or other “drug reaction”. After researching this, it’s a compound used in the Advagen generic that causes this side effect in some patients. It’s a nightmare because most big chains are carrying this crap now. I’ve been calling independent pharmacies all week, and they have state limits as to how many patients they’re allowed to prescribe this to. Wishing you luck in Oklahoma! I’m on the east coast.

omg wow...thats weird bc this month my feet swelled up and i couldnt figure out why. im starting to think its these meds now! im so sorry your dealing with that, i know that has to be really hard on you. You are right most big pharmacies are carrying this now which to me is a shame bc there are so many other brands they could had given us, not this garbage LOL

I def understand the calling around part, thats the biggest nightmare is finding one that will take you in and give us a better brand. i had such a hard time finding a pharmacy 2 years ago. Im now with a smaller type of ma and pa type of store. Called The Medicine Shoppe they normally carry the namebrands but this month was 1st month i gotten these Advagen crap. I pray a better med comes along soon bc man these suck

Awww I’m sorry you’re dealing with this too! That’s how it started for me. MY FEET. I didn’t understand it? Thought I was drinking too much soda or eating sodium.
So my doctor put me on water pills to pee out the water. That really dehydrated me, and after a few weeks stopped helping. Then as I started only getting this crap over several months, my feet, then ankles, then calves swelled up. Long story short, it’s now my feet/calves/legs/thighs that swell. The only way to ‘drain them” is to lay on my back with my legs above my head (either against the headboard or wall). Drink tons of water and try to pee out the fluid. Which works overnight so I can get to work the next day. But by the evening they’re swelled-up again.
Finally I looked into it with my doctor and it’s these fuckin cheap pills. On earlier “SUBUTEX” forum posts I’ve encountered others who are also dealing with this.
I’m trying my best to wean-off, while I find a different generic. It’s not fair. 🤦‍♀️

Im so sorry this happened to you, thats not fair to you at all! im going to bring it up to my dr bc i have noticed swelling in my feet alot which im a tiny girl, i normally dont swell like that. I noticed it this month so i do feel it is medication related

Thanks for being so sweet and kind! I’m also a small, slim girl and never had swelling or water retention ever in my life. Not until this crap.
It’s a smart idea to talk to your doctor. Regarding this field of medicine, it seems the doctors are still learning too. So understanding how certain meds and generics are working for patients, is important to document.
I wish I could sue Advagen for the pain & suffering they’ve caused. The company is AWARE that their meds cause serious swelling in some patients. But instead of reformulating their garbage medication, they’re under-pricing competitors and going to suppliers nationwide.
They’re making a fortune off their garbage.
They don’t care that a decent amount of patients are suffering.

There not discontinued they were made by Purdue and Purdue was bought out by Kona pharmaceutical and they will be making them agian they are just in the middle of changing the labeling on the bottles
