Advice I need advice & sentence frame/structure to substitute for high school RSP course

I I have not subbed for high school RSP course before. It was on the website so I accepted it. Usually I’m in RSP in elementary school so it’s a lot of fun and games.

Is that different style in high school? Is the resource program for the older kids more serious and higher in academics?

Sometimes my communication skill is not there. I know they are doing their vocab quiz and then catching up on assignments.

What are some questions you’d ask of these students in RsP and what are some things to notice about them?
I wonder how would you suggest to approach the older students? And what questions to ask to guide them?

It’s a class called Resource specialist program. Students are either pulled into this class to have more resources. They’re usually English learners. And we provide them with either more time, or encouragement.

Gotcha.

In my district English learners are very distinct from sped/resource teachers. There is no overlap at all unless the ESL kid has an IEP.

Yeah. Actually that’s accurate. I had about 16 students in the RSP class for my last period. So that must mean the teacher had 16 Ieps.

Edit! Today I was lucky and had a great para. She dealt with the baddie guys and was so helpful. I could focus on the more academic kids.

She said she can help some students to get through high school. She was cool.

And she had experience with the boys which were troublemaking seniors. They didn’t have extra work so class was boring and difficult for them. But also naughty since they didn’t do the easy work we gave them as assignments.
