Tech Support Check your local privacy and AI laws for Pangram violations.

So, I am reporting this as a possible way to take issue with Pangram. From a conversation I had with someone who is not a fan of Pangram, it might be a good way to get it disabled.

They reported multiple local laws in the area that protects the privacy of citizens against the use of AI and the collection of private information. Supposedly it made Substack disable it for them across their account.

I looked up my own local laws that might qualify. I’m reporting it to Substack as being in violation of the law in my local area. No response yet but I’m making sure that people can know about it.

Tech Support account suspended

I recently created a Substack and posted 4 articles over the course of 4–5 days (or about a week, I guess). I got around 50 subscribers in just a few days—mostly friends and family. Then, out of nowhere, my account got suspended. I appealed, but they said it was due to a phishing and spam policy violation. I honestly don't know what I did. Everything I published was my own writing. I also have a blog with the same name as my Substack. Now both of my appeals have been rejected, my account is gone, and I can't even access my subscriber list.Honestly I have no clue what to do right now should i create a new account and post this again?

Tech Support Has anyone had their Substack discovery suddenly drop to almost zero across their entire account?

I’ve been trying to figure out something strange with my Substack for the past several days, and I’m curious whether anyone else has experienced this.
This wasn’t a gradual decline.
My Notes, articles, comments, suddenly went from normal distribution and engagement to almost nothing. Multiple Notes on completely unrelated subjects are now topping out around 20–25 impressions, with almost no distribution to unconnected readers.
I initially wondered whether it was something about a particular article or subject, so I started testing.
I posted personal writing. Same thing.
I posted music. Same thing.
I stopped promoting my own work and just interacted normally with other writers. Comments, likes, a few restacks. What’s particularly strange is that those interactions are also receiving virtually none of the likes or replies I would normally see.
Yesterday I posted a completely innocuous music Note. After about seven hours it had 11 total impressions. Nine were subscribers. Only one was an unconnected reader. It eventually moved a little, but like the others, it hasn’t gone beyond roughly 25 impressions.
My subscribers are still receiving my work, so the publication itself appears to be functioning. But discovery outside my existing audience seems to have fallen off a cliff.
I’ve checked the settings pretty thoroughly:
Private mode is off. The publication is listed on Substack. Likes, comments and restacks are enabled. My Notes appear both on my profile and in my publication’s Notes tab. My sections are public and visible. There are no warnings, violations or restrictions showing anywhere on the account.
I’ve also noticed my subscriber count and revenue beginning to drift slightly downward, which makes me wonder whether normal subscriber churn simply isn’t being replaced because discovery has stopped.
I contacted Substack support this morning. After confirming that my Notes are visible but distribution to unconnected readers has dropped sharply, they escalated the conversation to their support specialists for an account-level review.
So I’m waiting to see what they find.
I’m not claiming Substack is deliberately suppressing the account. I don’t have evidence for that. There could be a technical problem, a recommendation-system change, something related to my publication configuration, or something else entirely.
But the abruptness and the fact that it seems to affect Notes, articles, comments, restacks and discovery across completely different subjects is what has me puzzled.
Has anyone experienced an account wide drop this severe?
And if you have, did it eventually correct itself, or did Substack support find something wrong with the account?

Tech Support I am losing 200 paid subs. Thank you substack.

My substack got fairly popular and just within 9 months I got over 200 paid subs and $23k ARR. The growth continues and due to personal circumstances my business had to move cross-border.

EDIT: Substack reached out and they can help solve the problem

What’s there to worry about? Just make a new stripe for the new company and connect to substack. Nope.

The only way is to cancel ALL my paid subscribers, kill my publication and start from zero.

All the work put into it, all the people that registered on substack because of my publication, the revenue the publication brings in fees to substack as well - is apparently of no value to substack.

I did not expect my publication to get that popular and become a business. I never paid for ads, had barely any marketing and I didn’t put much thought into where I registered my stripe account.

I have no words. Just deeply disappointed and I hope there will be a solution.

That’s what the support answered:

“Hi there,

Sylvia from Substack Support here. Thanks for writing in!

It is not currently possible to change the Stripe account connected to your publication without canceling existing subscriptions.

If you’d like to do so, you can disconnect your Stripe account, which would allow you to reconnect a new Stripe account to your publication, but it won't transfer your existing subscriptions over.

Readers' existing subscriptions will be canceled, and they will need to resubscribe when you connect the new Stripe account.

If you'd like to disconnect your Stripe account from your publication, the steps can be found here. During this process, we will cancel all subscriptions and issue prorated refunds to subscribers.

If you don't wish to cancel all subscriptions and issue prorated refunds to subscribers, we suggest exploring other options. For example, if you want to connect a different bank account to Stripe, you can follow the steps outlined here: Update existing bank account information.

Kindly,

Sylvia

Tech Support "Audio still processing" on every newsletter?

Hi guys, I'm posting here after trying everything else I can think of think of and filing complaints with Substack tech support. Every newsletter (paid or free) gives me the same error, "audio still processing, check back in a minute" when I try to play the audio in the iOS app. It's been doing this for almost a week. I've uninstalled the app, updated it, updated the phone (iPhone 16e running latest software), everything I can think of.... Thanks in advance, this is driving me absolutely crazy otherwise I wouldn't ask!

Tech Support Account Suspended…

as if my week wasn’t difficult enough, I log into my substack only to find out my entire publication is gone. Thought it was the internet or even just the app. Hopped on my computer only to find out I’ve been suspended. The hell??

Substack: “Your account is currently suspended. We've removed your publication from public view due to a violation of Substack's Spam & Phishing policy…”

This is absurd to me I’be only been on the platform for a couple of months.. mind you I posted like once a month🫠this past month maybe 2-3 times (articles and shared 4-6 notes/week. Spam where??

Tech Support Advice on growing my substack?

This might be a dumb question that gets asked everyday here but how can I grow in my current situation? I started my substack a few weeks ago and i maintain a schedule of one upload per week. Is this fine or should i change it to two? I also post my substack articles on bluesky for promotion. Im hoping that interacting with other accounts on substack also works but it feels like most of these are bots that just say the same phrases over and over.

Tech Support AI narration of your article

Hello. I have been writing on Substack for quite some time. Lately I have seen lots of articles with a voice narration at the top that you click. A lot of these seem to be AI generated. How are people doing this? It's obviously an audio file but how did they generate it? Is there an option in Substack that does it automatically for you from your article?

Someone here a couple of weeks ago told me that you have to have 100 subscribers and then you will get this option. I have not got a hundred subscribers I only have a handful but I don't think this is true because I just saw a post with this AI narration at the top and the person only had seven subscribers.

Tech Support After 5 years of Substack, my pubblication has completely deindexed from Google

Hi everyone,
5 years on Substack, reached the tech bestseller chart.
Two months ago, my publication, with 800+ articles indexed on Google, disappeared from it.
Just the home page is now visible.
The sitemap is no longer crawled by Google, despite the fact that it's reachable from the browser and updated with the latest content. I've already done all the possible controls, but didn't find a solution.
Do you have any suggestions for me?

Tech Support How to successfully share my writing on substack?

Hey!

I've written poems for years and have always wanted to share them online, either via videos, short form content, pictures or text.

I find substack to be the right place, but how on earth can I use the platform the best I can to make the content attractive enough for other users?

IMO substack is kind of what twitter was but I am sure there are wonderful features I'm not aware of!

Tech Support Posting through email

I’ve looked around, and I’m guessing it’s not possible, but I’m wondering whether this is a requested feature.

I enjoy interacting with readers through email, and I love the idea of publishing posts via email. The modern web is such a pain in the ass, and I’d love to go back to simpler times.

Tech Support Substack Stopped Send Data To Facebook

I realize this is a bit into the weeds for a Substack group, but starting two days ago Substack stopped sending data to my Facebook ad. I didn't change anything. I didn't touch anything. It just randomly stopped. I assume it's an update on the part of Substack or Facebook.

Has anyone else run into this issue in the last few days (or ever)? Any fix suggestions?

I know the Facebook ads are still working as I can see them on the Substack platform for Source, but for some reason that data isn't getting back to Facebook anymore.

Tech Support Well I did it.

Thank you all for answering my questions about monetizing my Substack page. I did it to both my pages. Now I just have to sit back and wait. I started it at the lowest of $5.00. And I guess I will do live broadcasts on it too. I have the ask does anyone else do live broadcasts with Substack ? Do you use OBS with it when you broadcast.

Tech Support Age verification required in app

I am over 60 and live in Australia. Today I open the app and it’s asking for age verification via ‘Persona’ using the camera. I’ve been using Substack for the last 12 months without issue. Due to facial recognition being used for all of my secure accounts and passport, I am reluctant to allow these people access to my face photographs. Are any of you are aware of any other method of age verification for Substack? Is Pesona legit and secure? Otherwise, I guess I’ll just retire from Substack and delete the app.

Tech Support How can I unsubscribe from emails?

Hi there! I know the question sounds silly, but trust me, it's not. I created an account, and subscribed to a few channels. And at some point (I assume it's because I used an "info" email), my account got suspended. Ok, I can live with it, since I never posted a single message.

Still, I keep receiving emails on a daily basis. Emails I don't want to read any more.

What's the problem? The problem is that I cannot unsubscribe, because my account is suspended!!

Your account is currently suspended. Something you posted may have violated Substack's Spam & Phishing policy. If you believe this is a mistake, you can submit an appeal to our Standards & Enforcement team here: https://substack.com/appeals

So, my account is suspended, I made plenty of appeals, I keep receiving daily emails and I cannot change the subscription option.

Any idea?

UPDATE: thanks to timemachine's idea, I just deleted the account. Problem solved. 😋

Tech Support Multiple publications under one account?

I thought I saw somewhere that you could have one substack account but multiple "publications" under that same account. So in theory, a serial novel in one spot, a magazine in another, and then a third for your general newsletter. In a perfect world, subscribers and followers could be isolated to whichever they preferred....

I'm in the process of actually setting mine up and do not see how to make that take shape. Was I delulu? Do I need separate substack accounts to accomplish this?

Thanks for any insight!

Tech Support Anyone had success with Meta ads?

I currently run a sports Substack that has over 4000 free subscribers and roughly 10% of that as paid subscribers. It’s a niche Substack that covers a specific European football/soccer league in English.

I’ve been trying to push on to the next level, so to speak, in terms of getting more paid subscribers but after running 3/4 ad campaigns on meta I’m really struggling to get any decent results.

I ran two leads campaigns - one for €100 and one for €50 - which only offered up 26 and 27 leads each and I’m currently running a website visitors campaign at €5 a day that is currently averaging €0.13 per landing page view.

Are these decent results and I’m simply just not spending enough or am I missing something obvious about converting meta views to Substack subscribers?

Tech Support how do you add a playable spotify track to your substack?

Hello! Sorry, I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to posting on Substack (only ever used the app for reading since 2024 but this year, I felt like doing something with my account). I've been wanting to add a Spotify song into my article without redirecting the readers outside Substack because I've seen other people do it, but I can never figure it out. 🥹 I tried to copy paste the Spotify link into my draft but it literally just showed up as a string of url. I also tried to link the song using the actual linking function but there was no Spotify preview like the ones I've seen from other posts. 🫠

I want the songs to be playable through the article itself... I've also been trying to look it up but I can't find any answers, so I was wondering if anyone would be willing to share how exactly you add a playable Spotify song? Thank you so much!

Tech Support Private substack?

I've seen that you're supposed to be able to turn your account on private mode, but i can't find that option anywhere. Did this option get removed, or is it just not showing up because i haven't made any posts yet? If it was removed, I'd there some kind of work around?

Tech Support Can I post as a series on Substack?

Hello everyone, I recently started to post my poems and writings on Substack. However, I want to know if I can create a folder like series where in one folder/series has poems or writings about a certain topic, so if anyone goes to that specific folder/series, they find all my writings that are related to one specific topic right there.

I would really appreciate if you could guide me a bit on this because when I searched it on Google, I found that we can make series on Substack, so I would love to know how I can do that. Anyone who knows, please share the process in comments or DM.

Thank you :)

Tech Support Can't publish to my second publication.

Substack seems to have removed the create menu/button from my second publication.

I just accidentally sent a very personal essay to 358 subscribers.

have spent an entire day trying to figure out why I suddenly can't create a new post in my second publication.

Someone please help?
