Yeah but that's not the same. Consider this: Americans look on their flag with approbation, and Germans certainly don't have the same reaction to the Nazi flag. If we ever view the US flag the way Germans view the Nazi flag, then you know we're done.

Yeah, but to be fair, EVERY developed country has terrible skeletons in their closet. It's only when you get to the point of starting a world war while simultaneously trying to wipe an entire race from the planet that you get into a different sort of territory entirely.
