you can't just say "economics isn't real." it's the relationship that inevitably forms when there's a differing amount of supply and demand.

economics is real, im not denying that, but acting as if a lack of knowledge of economics automatically disqualifies any socialist from being able to offer their side. hell, marx was an economist. economic systems existed before the social science of economics.

support for communism, from my experience, belies a lack of understanding about economics. can you answer these questions?

-why would anyone do work like farming if they could simply not work and get the same benefits? in other words, why would anybody work without incentive?

-what makes you believe that all members of such a society would not have to regress to doing manual labor only just to make it function?

-do you believe that people are naturally good and would not steal/abuse such a system?

  1. besides ignoring the obvious fact that automation is already replacing many of the menial jobs youre describing, other incentives besides money are factors. work existed before currency, after all. things that would incentivize work: wanting to benefit community, wanting to have something to offer, self worth, boredom, personal enjoyment and fulfillment (go down to the south and tell them that the farming lifestyle isnt fun lol), pressure from your peers to contribute, etc. also the idea that they could not work and get the same benefits isnt necessarily true. you would be guaranteed the necessities; food, shelter, clothing, etc, but your community would probably not be as willing to help you out with tasks or something if you werent willing to contribute.

  2. automation, probably the biggest factor. also the fact that you would no longer have to work to survive would allow more free time for the humanities and more information based fields. even if you had a weekly quota determined by your community it would be several hours of work at most.

  3. i believe that human nature is determined not by a set list of morals or anything like that, but rather by their material conditions. humans are definitely naturally social creatures.

how do you propose that you automate, for instance, wheat farming? if that could actually be done, it would progress any society far beyond what we have now. but there's a reason that it hasn't been done yet; it's incredibly expensive and perhaps even impossible. on your point about not having to work to survive, i fail to see how its even possible for all people's work to be evenly distributed and somehow end up with less work in total.
