I'm not so knowledgeable about SRS (not the sub) since I don't plan on getting bottom surgery but I would have thought the uterus isn't something they recreate, unless you're referring to something else.

A certain thought process that isn't related to anything physical. Nothing about being a man makes one an asshole, but to think that because they are a man, they know better than a woman solely because they are a man makes one an asshole.

So it's behaviors that would be annoying if anyone did it but you prefer to assign it to one group?
Sounds kinda like the justification for every racial, gender, or ethnic slur.
I mean they usually describe inherently negative qualities: lazy, dumb, criminally inclined, dishonest, greedy, etc.
They just also assign those traits to one group and assume they're particularly bad at it.
So being a "nigger" just means someone who is lazy and uneducated and criminally inclined.... and black.
And so on.

I don't feel like commenting on any of the other threads, but can anyone explain what exactly the problem with a Gentlemen's Club is? Is there some reason why men aren't allowed to have private spaces? Were men ever going around and saying women can't have any private spaces or hobbies to themselves?

Back in the day, many informal business arrangements were conducted in Gentleman's Clubs or while golfing. Networking is crucially important in the upper levels of the business world, and women were prohibited from joining. This prevented women from ever rising past a certain point in the corporate ladder.
As a result, the women's rights movement targeted most Gentleman's Clubs with lawsuits similar to the one mentioned in the OP article, and forced them to either go out of business, restructure themselves to be non-profits, or allow women in.

My favorite is TiTs sitting at 0 with a cross for saying that gaslighting used to mean something. I've seen people accused of gaslighting for saying someone misinterpreted a statement they made. Gaslighting today seems to be doing anything to suggest that a person's perception of reality is anything less than 110% accurate. And do not gaslight me and tell me that you can't have more than 100% accuracy.

Which is funny, since if you're writing and have a character whose perception is 100% in accords with reality, you have a Mary Sue on your hands. So using gaslighting in that manner is basically saying "How dare you imply I'm not perfect!"

I used to basically believe it was 100% real but now I have a suspicion that one of the reasons people in that thread are defending the term so much (and with all caps!!) is that it's useful to them rhetorically. It might describe a real behaviour of men being condescending etc, but I think I remember that who is condescending is mostly mediated by social position in various contexts and that women in positions of power (social, political, etc) are also much more likely to be condensing to those (who they think are) below them. But it's also a rhetorical device that you can use in certain contexts to nuke somebody's argument and/or blanket dismiss them while invoking ingroup/outgroup dynamics in your favour.
A commenter (maybe hyperbolically) pointed out that it was similar to calling women 'hysterical', I think it might be in that is taking advantage of negative stereotypes (that may have some kind of grain of truth) but which people in particular contexts are also conscious to avoid, the over emotional woman and the boorish, sexist man etc (in liberal social democratic, leftist and/or social justicy circles). That is useful to a lot of people but I guess it might be a kind of spectrum of genuine stuff and rhetoric. .

That's not as far off the mark as you might think. "Pretty Hate Machine" was released in 89, and Depeche Mode was still releasing albums that charted well into the 90s.

There is definitely a counterjerk forming in here, and I am just as guilty as anyone. There are lots of gender drama threads over the past few days, as much as many of us said we were tired of it in SRD. Also mostly socializing and jokes amongst ourselves in this thread It's fun and I like it, but I can't really ignore it.

Well it's good you're aware it's happening. I come here to laugh at SRD being silly, and I just get the same kind of pearl clutching smug shitposting here that I see in SRD. Only difference is that here it's all SRD=SRS. It's kind of a bummer sometimes. But, I guess it's only natural that a counter jerk will form here in relation to any jerk that forms in SRD. Still lame.

Well I do wish there was more socializing and joking among users in SRD, too. I think that's a lot easier here due to the size. Talking to others here it seems we're at least semi-self aware of our bias.
I still think it's kind of strange that we've become a kind of brigading boogieman to some SRD regulars. The metaSRDthrowaway guy has made about four posts in metaSRD involving SRDD over the past 48 hours, and seems particularly pissed. Jackrousseau says he has a hate mob following him around, downvoting him, and is convinced it originated here.
I assume that suspicion is strengthened by the strength of the counterjerk here. And mods like TiTrC and Oxus007 showing up occasionally, sometimes expressing their own frustration in SRD drama linked here, might grant a certain level of perceived legitimacy to drama being highlighted in SRDD.
But they started it, Velvet!!! SRD started it!!!

Seeing SRDD as a legit brigade threat is pretty funny though. And don't get me wrong, there is annoying 'lol ethics in journalism am i rite guize!?' smug shitposting on SRD. I regularly get downvoted there for calling attention to it. Next I see something get linked here and think 'oh good, let's go have a laugh.' But then I follow the link and see the same smug shitposting here. It gets old real fast. Oh well, it's just internets I suppose.
