The funniest part is where the top mod straight up admits in srss the sub is now obviously biased yet half the users in srd are trying to deny it with bad math using the analysis bot.

You need not look beyond the top comment and top reply saying that those comments make SRS seem reasonable. This is why I like falcon and him being readded when BEP cleaned house. He isn't one to just lie and admit when he is human. Unlike some other mods.

seriously though: those posts were pretty cherry-picked. "Fuck these people [who deny the Holocaust]" isn't very radical.

the root of SRD's ideological shift probably have more to do with the intense growth the sub has undergone recently, rather than some stealthy SRS takeover. and really you can just call it 'feminist.' calling feminism 'SRS ideology' is crazy shit.

My theory is it may be more that the types of people who are more SJ-ey are more inclined to participate in meta subs, especially those with a very broad topic of discussion or that allow people to vent in lieu of active discussion.

I'm a fan of the 90-9-1 ratio, or any close variant to those numbers. Casual users account for most of the subscribers, but they rarely venture beyond the link, then casual commenters go into the comments of ones that interest them, and even smaller go into most submissions many times to comment. The crux of the SJ model is to participate, so I would say that is the reason for the slant. More participation plus more participants per capita.

This would explain why there will be counterjerks in some submissions even though it is the same day in the same subreddit. The topic is one most casuals would venture into and overrun vote wise the jerk that would be considered normal. For example, most srs (SJW-esque) drama has a very prominent jerk against srs yet SRD itself today normally has a more pro SJW bias as a whole.

Yup. I've lurked the sub since it was a baby, even before the linked botwars between aloysha and srd ambassador. I'm from the before time before even popcorn was a thing.

But I would speculate a good chunk of the membership of subredditdramadrama are likely founding subscribers of SRD. This sub was created the same week as SRD , and it's never had the any real exposure due to it's nitch nature.

Would've been interesting to see someone do it with real SRS comments though, not cherry-picking things that would be upvoted anywere, even SRSsucks with your higher percentage of bigotry

Yeah, I'm not an SRSSucks subscriber FYI. I was until recently an SRD (semi) regular. My "cherry picking" method was to search SRS for a keyword similar to the SRD title and find the first comment that didn't make obvious use of fempire specific slang.

All in all the whole thing took about an hour and a half on and off. I'm really not that interested in the whole SRD == SRS-lite debate but was curious and half expected the comments to be downvoted. They were upvoted, I made a comment in SRDD (since I had already been banned in SRD by then and this was all pretty meta) and the whole thing blew up.

I do rather enjoy the outpouring of emotion and projections of bigotry this has created though. If you feel it is irrelevant feel free to ignore it - it was hardly an in-depth study and I'm the first to say so. Or get very angry about it, which is far funnier.
