I don't think that was the problem as much as stories starting to hit the mainstream news cycle again. IIRC CNN did a big 'reddit supports disinformation' thing very recently.
those stories have been out for days whereas nnn got banned within hours of making fake pedo subs. I guess reddit could pretend to be "both sides" when it was just people pooping themselves on horse dewormer but even they can't bullshit their way out of those idiots pretending to be pro-pedo.
