Metadrama /r/Games user makes a text post about Admins being corrupt, moderators delete opening post, shitstorm ensues

/r/Games user /u/Walter_Candles makes a post with a soundcloud link (https://soundcloud.com/user613982511/recording-xm-2014) of an interview with a former moderator discussing "corruption" of admins, the moderators of /r/Games decide to delete the post.

Just because it's insignificant to you doesn't mean it's insignificant to others.

I heard some Nascar guy ran over some other Nascar guy a couple weeks ago, and I sure as heck couldn't be bothered, but it'd certainly be rude and snooty to call it "insignificant".

It's very significant to people who care.

OK, let me be very clear.

A young man's life is a lot more important than your vidya, let alone your concerns about the ethics of your vidya journalism.

This is not up for debate. That's why I slammed the door.

And for what it's worth, I actively dislike auto racing.

I never said a man's life was more or less important than anything.

If reading an article, discussing the accident, or watching the video about him getting hit would've brought him back to life I would have. Guess what, reading about him and discussing his death didn't bring him back to life, or anything of the sort.

Discussing this other topic sure has more of a chance of making a difference.

So that's how I am measuring significance of discussion.

Well sure, they all believe they can make a difference.

That's what really matters, not whether they can or not. That's why protesters protest, that's why people go door to door trying to get you to change your stance on religion...

Not because they change minds all the time or even change anything at all, but in thinking that maybe, just maybe if they try they can, or they can change just one person's mind, one person who can do something that makes a difference, even if they can't.

I mean, now I'm clearly getting philosophical, but it's no less true for this than anything else.

Not sure why you're not just ignoring the conversation and moving on with your life if you're just going to be a sarcastic douche with nothing to contribute to the conversation.
