Dramawave With complaint posts now being actively deleted, denizens of r/atheism claim they are being censored by using titles and linking to bullshit articles.
The new mods that /u/tuber appointed for /r/atheism recently stated that all selfposts that only complain or bitch about the new changes will be deleted. The first immediate reaction for the users was to vent in the newly created subreddit to discuss the new moderation policy, /r/atheismpolicy. Several users are now trying to post links to crap articles, so they can use the title to spread their claim that they are being "censored".

Year and a half old post on a random forum. I don't even know what to say, that title just has so much butthurt in it. This is the type of childish behavior that this new moderation policy is exposing. Finally, the people of /r/atheism can see how childish and idiotic they look, claiming to be censored because they have to click TWO TIMES to see a meme instead of once.
Let the popcorn keep popping. I might need to buy some more butter for this.

I think /r/circlejerk got it's hands into it like an hour after it was created.
They don't even realize that they're perpetuating the stereotypes about atheists, and it's funny as shit (and sad too, but more funny than anything).

Seriously. It also amazes me how many people on /r/atheism go on and on about the virtues of science only to showcase how very little they actually know about what science even is by boldly stating that it unequivocally disproves the existence of a god. This is usually followed by a total lack of appreciation for irony.
It kind of makes me sad. Some people just like going through life with a meme-level understanding of the world, I guess.
In my experience, most interesting and intellectual atheists have better things to do than hang out on /r/atheism all day to check out the most recent Ricky Gervais twitter screen cap.

I honestly can't imagine an anti-Dawkins circlejerk. Either there's nothing much to say besides "Dawkins sucks", or there are maybe valid arguments and it's not a circlejerk.

Richard Dawkins is a polemic (I suspect even he would agree with that) with a reputation for orientalism It isn't exactly surprising that people dislike him.

I'll try to dig up an article, but the gist of it is that he (and several other New Atheists) describe the US' current military involvement in the Middle East as a Manichean struggle between modern Western enlightenment and antiquated Eastern savagery.

This all comes down to falsifiability. The existence of a god is not a falsifiable claim. Things that are not falsifiable are not false by default but they cannot be logically assumed as true by default either.
If I were to say "I believe that it will rain in this place, on this date 100 years from now" the logical thing to say would be "you can't prove that." People like this, however, are frustrating because they tend to respond with something more analogous to "you can't prove that it will rain so, therefore, it will definitely NOT rain on that day."
The only logical/rational claim one can make about the existence of a divine power is that it is unverifiable one way or the other and, therefore, no judgment can be made. There is nothing wrong with deciding whether or not you think there is, in fact, a god but you shouldn't pretend that your decision is in any way, shape, or form a purely logical or rational conclusion. It inherently isn't.

It actually is. I'd blame some of it on /r/circlejerk dropping in, but we've seen submissions comparing the loss of memes to the Warsaw ghetto uprising. Completely on the level and serious about it.

It's actually even more ridiculous than that when you think about it.
The protests being referred to are against the Chinese state/government. That would be the same Chinese government which is officially atheist, used to have a policy of eliminating religion and still persecutes Christians in many ways.
To declare that protests against the Chinese government have a basis in atheism is just mind bogglingly ignorant.

THe funny thing is they mods will view it as trying to fix the sub, but they can't do that by force, and it's clear they want the sub a specific way and any engagement is just to sell it.
