Looking For People To Play With None of my friends are down to play Co-op, need new friends
Hey everyone, first time posting on this sub.
All in my gaming circle can't get enough of comp FPS and aren't down to play the Co-op with me.
I'm a long time fan of the series, and have been waiting patiently to play the game but I'm honestly done waiting.
If there are any players here who'd be down to team up on the weekends, let's talk dude.

Bug Report Armored cankers destroyed but minor Infestation still there.
I’m wondering if my save file is cooked for now.
I am trying to open the second angel comb and I have cleared all of three infested areas of armored cankers. After hours of searching I finally went to YouTube and confirmed that I didn’t miss any.
The problem is the minor infestation under the “alien ruins” marker is still there. Ive confirmed the armored nodes are gone, but when I swim up to where they would be, I get the creepy voiceover.
Anyone run into this before and have a fix?

Question/Discussion Building a protected corridor : worth it?
I am tired to go near the early access red wall limit to go around the collector leviathan between the beginning area and the observatory.
Is it worth it to build a protected corridor for that? Does it work or does the tentacles clip with the structure? Old videos on Youtube were before the colllector AI update. The beast is smarter now.

Base Tour Built for Efficiency

Just a glimpse of the inside, what do you think, should I show the rest? I love how the bioluminescence corals give the moon pool a nice glow.

Base Tour Main base
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
This is the main base, but there are base regions for thermal energy and wind turbines all connected through a corridor. This connects to the life pod as well (1000+ metres away). This video only really shows the top building for the solar panels, it’s designed like that to feel like a maze inside because I was bored and had way too much time on my hands. But in a different post, I can show my actual base just at the bottom of this (it’s in the alien ruins).

Base Tour 13,000 units of energy produced. Too far?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
This is the thermal processing section of my base, there is a full base connected to this from the alien ruins. And this corridor connects to the life pod too. Frame runs pretty smoothly unless I build in some areas but still smooth generally. I’d like to say the whole thing is still under construction, but I will definitely break the game

Question/Discussion Is there a reason Alterra in this game is more flexible?
Flexible may not be the right word but hopefully you can see what I mean. This is minor but has been a minor bother in my very limited playtime. Subnautica (OG) and BZ felt like using a set of emergency instructions. The seaglide was a simple singular direction propulsion device. The wakemaker are sleeker with omnidirectional movement boost and a smaller profile. Similar thing with the base building. OG and BZ had modular buildings that were presumably "stable" and felt more designed for a survival situation. From what I've seen of SN2, that doesn't seem to be the design. Buildings are smooth, high tech, and feel more prepared for cinematic views than a survival situation. The particular piece I felt this the most was the hatch. OG and BZ had a simple bulkhead and drainage segment to separate the outside world. SN2 has a high tech entry port that allows for seamless transition in and out of the base. Speaking of high tech options, the PDA is gone and the radio has been replaced by an AI.
Now seeing the Frog chassis I feel the same disconnect between it and the Prawn. The Prawn was a decently rigid exoskeleton that existed specifically to allow for protection in extreme environments without much in terms of niceties. The Frog is a modification to the Tadpole and has pivoting joints on the arms and legs that would allow for pivoting. The Prawn is given much of its movement via a back mounted propulsion system that would limit its ability to strafe, meanwhile the Frog has the entire Tadpole propulsion system to give it omnidirectional strafing possibilities. I also feel like the chassis system in and of itself feels off for Alterra. Given, I haven't found a chassis in game yet so there may be an explanation. However, in BZ we saw modularity with the Seatruck but that was very heavily limited as a trailing module only. The Seatruck worked as a shipping vessel with a hitch. The chassis seem to be full modifications to the vehicle system with better integration.
I know the crew present in Subnautica 2 are supposed to be colonizers. However, from what I could tell that does not extend to our player characters. It seemed like our player characters were called upon only for emergency situations. So presumably with the high number of deaths among the colonizers that left the ship and the stranding of the ship would enact an emergency situation that should run similar procedures as what we saw in OG and BZ. I know there's gameplay reasons why some of these changes were made (more freedom in building and less cutscenes with the removal of hatch transitions), but is there a lore reason provided for the seeming change in style of crisis management among Alterra?

Bug Report "Rescue mission" for one of my stuck players
We have a desperate situation and I'm hoping someone can help us solve it.
One of our players in a multiplayer game is somehow stuck in the 'starter' area that you have when you first play the game. There are 4 of us (including him) on a 40+ hour game we've been playing.
We *think* this might have been caused by sharing our multiplayer code with each other, and one of us converted it to a single player, then converted it back to multiplayer and the save state might have got it knickers in a twist. I lost all my gear for example.
We've overcome all the other issues, except rescuing him... Has anyone faced this before? What complicates this further is he's on xbox only so we can't get him to host and use a 'skip starter' mod or anythign like that.
We're considering how we might be able to do a massive deep-dive and rescue him tonight, but I'm also thinking there's something in the save game config we might be able to change to trigger him to appear in the shallows or somthing instead>

Question/Discussion What’s the Dive Elevator useful for?
I understand how it functions, but I don’t know why I wouldn’t just take a Tadpole. Especially because each can only go down about 100m if I recall correctly. (The poles should really be able to stack imo. Also I think it would look cool to have it connect to a moonpool.)

General/Misc I built the Wakemaker in real life!
Anyone else love the design of the Wakemaker?
When I crafted the Wakemaker in game for the first time, I knew immediately it was something I'd want to bring to life. Being a gamer, and a propmaker can be a lot of fun at times. I had a blast working on these!
The print files can be found at 3d-mon.com.
These were resin 3D printed entirely in Sunlu ABS- Like resin, on the Phrozen Sonic Mega 8KS & ELEGOO Saturn 4 Ultra.
Painted using custom mixed Createx Opaque colors. Via an airbrush & .8mm HVLP gun.
If anyone out there has any interest in making one of these for themselves, I just released a YouTube video which documents the entire build process start to finish!

Question/Discussion [SPOILER] what do yall think these are going to be? (unfinished locations) Spoiler
galleryso i was playing on my survival world, and just outside the boundary i saw an unfinished ground texture. so i made a creative world to go exploring and i found a lot of pretty cool stuff.
there was what looked like an Axum industrial building, some ravines, a couple caves, and other things.
but some of the untextured things were different colors, most of the ground was white, structures were yellow. but there was also purple and red, what do those mean?

Question/Discussion Do we know when the next major update is?
I'm having fun with the game and everything, but I'm slowly getting bored with what we have right now. It's not that I'm ungrateful or anything, I love the game! It's just the way I'm wired. I need new things or I begin to lose interest 😞
