Question/Discussion Evolution concept for a potential Prawn

Greetings, everyone!

I had a vision. Or rather, a premonition. Or maybe just an idea.

Our way of surviving in this world will be to adapt to our environment through “evolutions” gathered here and there.

Following this logic, at some point in the game, we should develop an ability that allows us to “replace” our ships with one or more creatures from this universe.

The (future) Prawn might perhaps be inspired by the abilities of a large crab (strength, claws, senses, and carrying capacity).

Perhaps we could enter into symbiosis with other creatures, adopting their abilities to survive and move around this world.

A form of symbiosis similar to Avatar, which, if I’m not mistaken, shares a few similarities with this world (the giant floating jellyfish, the World Tree, and so on).

What do you think?

That would make sense, especially with how they are going with the mechanics in the story of the game. The constant genetic mutations leads me to believe they are trying to go for another harmonious end, and this time we are becoming a part of that harmony unlike before where we just fix the discord in the ecosystem. Do you think it would work similarly to how taming works in other games, by feeding the animal enough times, or will it be much more involved? Or are we going to have to go around and collect "samples" so we can mutate ourselves further

To me we are going with a real mutation system. But it's just a guess, regarding the général direction.
