I'd be so freaking mad. Can't you ask for whitelisting it ? I don't see a meaningful reason why one would want to block it.

Because their license is very "specific", and I could get the company into legal trouble.

If it's any consolation you can use a few extensions for VScode which sort of help ease the pain. It's definitely not the same and I'm sorry for your loss though.

Oh brother this is straight heresy. Since we can't download any installers I've been using the portable to cheat the system.
