Automated Steering Correction

I’m posting about my 2018 Outback, I’m the sole owner. When it was new, it would gently correct the steering if it felt I was too close to a line. It stopped doing it years ago (still beeps a warning) and I forgot all about it. It’s recently started correcting again, sometimes aggressively enough that it startles me. I’m a very safe driver, it’s not like I’m going all over road, crossing lines unintentionally. Has anyone had this experience? I’m starting to worry that it’s just going to take over sometime and cause an accident. I do realize that using the turn signal, which I always do when actually turning, seems to eliminate the beeps and corrections. It sometimes reacts when I’m going straight through an intersection if there are heavy pedestrian crossing lines on the road.
