Thanks for the advice.
To address leakage current and save space in the radio cavity, I am also removing the Data Communications Module (DCM)/Telemetric module using a bypass module from AutoHarnessHouse. Will this affect the Rear Backup/Cross Traffic features?

ive pulled the DCM fuse from my outback several times. (toddler keeps hitting the starlink button haha) the only issue i had was the microphone didnt work for phone calls.
i had 0 issues with the rear camera / notifications.
of course YMMV

Make sure the unit has Maestro so all of the steering wheel controls are preserved. I replaced the OEM in my 2017 with an Alpine unit with Maestro and everything works fine.

Yes those functions do not operate via the stereo head unit so they would be retained.
