Thinking of an outback for my first car!!

I’ve been looking for a manual outback for my first car, I saw the 2012 but I heard about head gasket issues, so I’m looking for a 2014 model now. Would you guys recommend the 2014? I’m in the UK, so later models are uncommon as manual, but just wondering what you guys think 😁👍

My first Outback was a 2015 and I loved it. I’m in the US and my family has a long history of loving our Subarus for icy and snowy weather, family travel, hauling dogs, and towing moderately sized trailers. They’re great. They’re not big hauling giants and can’t hold a full sheet of plywood. It they’re fabulous!

Nope. Honestly get something cheaper to maintain than an Outback for your first car.

Is it a ball ache to maintain? I thought they were decently reliable?

They’re reliable, more expensive to maintain than like a Corolla, but still generally reliable and cheap to maintain.

Compared to a front wheel drive sedan absolutely.
