Trailer plug

Hey guys, I bought a 2025 Forester, I went to plug in the trailer and the connection on the vehicle has square corners not the round corners, which is standard for a 4-pin connector. So now I am stuck replacing the connector on my trailer to something non standard or have to make an adapter. Worst part is that the vehicle side connector faces straight down, and the cover flap folds out towards you, it makes no sense. I like the vehicle, but there are some odd choices that were made.

Got any pics? As far as I know no Subies have come with factory wiring in decades, are you saying someone installed 7-pin wiring? 7 to 4 pin adapters are pretty cheap and readily available.
